It's not every day that dreams come true. I have a faint memory of seeing a Dino around 1975 at the Auto Show at the Charlotte Convention Center when I was in 1st grade. It was Silver with Black interior. There was a placard in the windshield that said Dino. As a 1st grader, the word Dino was easy to remember.

Fast forward 41 years. After owning a 308QV, 328GTB, 355 Berlinetta, and a Challenge Stradale, I still wanted that beautiful image I saw 41 years ago. My quest began because I was out of garage space and my wife was tired of not having "her" spot in the garage. What to do ?
After exploring the expansion of my 1936 garage to store my existing cars, I decided to sell two Alfas and a 930Turbo and use the proceeds along with garage renovation funds to buy the Dino. At the end of the day, I didn't want more garage, I wanted the Dino to go with my other mid-engine Ferraris!!! With that decision made, I asked for help from you guys in locating the right car for me.

Around Thanksgiving I was contacted by part time broker Ken Sargavakian on this forum. Ken had a prospect who had first started discussing selling his Dino in 2011. It had taken him 6 years to be ready to sell and he wasn't really excited about doing so even now. Through patience and Ken's tenacity, a deal was struck this week and the car became mine this morning. If anyone has the pleasure dealing with Ken, I recommend him without question.

The car is a two owner, mainly California car
    29,567 documented miles
Silver / Black ( just like I saw in 1975)
    Complete history and records.
    Books, tools, jack, wheel chock
One respray in original Silver color
New seats and carpet. Original door cards, headliner, and dash

It's a pretty original car which I'm sure will need some refreshing mechanically, but the purchase price leaves some room for that.

Hopefully it will turnout to be all I hope it is. If not, I'll make that way myself.
I'm happy with the purchase and want to thank Ken and those on the Forum that helped in my search. Thanks even to the folks I clashed with during the process. These exchanges educated me to areas I didn't know about and made me a more knowledgable buyer.

May the Rust Gods be with me.......

Thanks guys. Many of you posting were a great help to me and I appreciate your input. I look forward to giving back where possible. I do the basic maintenance on my other F cars which were derived from the Dino and look forward to exploring where it all began.

    Congrats Skipp!!!

I am glad you found a Dino and have come back to join us, I imagine you will find we are actually a very friendly group.

I bought 03930 from Kent Johnson and he was very helpful in the process. It is one of the cars I mentioned buying sight unseen.

He is a good guy and loved your Dino.

Your Dino was delivered through Diagnosis and Service on 3/8/72.

    The original buyer was:

    James Conger Jr.
    4409 Strand
    Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

Another interesting thing about this Dino is most Dino's had a 1 year warranty (if even offered by the Dealer), but for some odd reason, the Dino was held under warranty until 6/7/73.

I am guessing that is something Conger must have negotiated, as it isn't something I think I have seen before.

Skipp. Thanks for the kind words on helping facilitate your Dino purchase.

You (as a buyer) we're easily one of the most straight forward guys I've dealt with in awhile.
I'm happy we both stuck this one out haha :)

The GT is going to look great in your row of FCars!
