At the suggestion of some here - I am starting a new thread to map out my Dino search I just joined this forum Thank you all in advance I read Skipps thread very closely and in truth some of the cars referenced in that thread are cars that I have been looking at I would love to not spend 300k - but I want a spyder
I like this one a lot and I believe it can be bought close to $300k: 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS for sale: Anamera
I just want to say a genuine thanks for all of the PM's I have received they have been very helpful I think the rarest car I have owned and the one that most closely replicates this experience would be my 1968 Shelby KR Convertible - 4 speed I searched for a while - But I knew Mustangs pretty well and had restored a few after finding and roto restoring the Shelby to Concours specs I sold it at Barrett in a Scottsdale Auction - many years ago
but the dumb thing I'm realizing now... Is that there were not hundreds of thousands of regular production cars that share the same factory sheet metal meaning Dinos were only made once there were a lot of factory NOS fenders etc - so if you needed something in a Shelby resto there was a chance you could find NOS parts the restoration of a Dino requires metal fabrication - that my shop can do ... but only to a certain level I have read many threads on this forum top to bottom in the week I have been here fascinating another thing I didn't realize was the incredibly low production run of EVERY YEAR of Fcars wow and i call myself a "car" guy
John, I have this car for sale that we can negotiate price on. Is not far from you in Redondo beach 1972 Ferrari 246 GTS Craig
I inspected this car to buy about 2 months ago. Fell free to give me a call if you want to discuss my findings, I am on my way to Scottsdale later today though. Craig
