Any help identifying these part appreciated. Turning my attention to the fuel system. The second photo is in the rear passenger wheel well above the gas tank. Thanks, Skipp Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I found it. A "together deaerator". What is that ??? Also, what do these items do ? Many thanks, Skipp
A better translation would be "liquid-vapor separator" -- it's function is to only let fuel vapors go over to the charcoal canister (if the pressure in the tank builds) and not any liquid fuel.
They are not something that was meant to be replaced, but, then again, the Designers weren't planning on a 60-year lifetime . The liquid-vapor separator is just an empty metal can with a few perforated baffles inside so, unless it gets badly rusted, it should be OK, and during a restoration might have some solvent put in it, shaken around, and drained out just to make sure all of the ports are open and not blocked. Here's the page 52 from the 246GT/GTS WSM (seems like that's something you should get if you are going to be the caretaker for a V6 Dino): Image Unavailable, Please Login The operation of the early US 308GT4 fuel evaporation and air injection systems are very similar to the US 246GTS systems so the 308GT4 WSM would also be another good reference for you to be familiar with.
Steve, Thanks again. How about the white three-way control valve ? Replace ? Do you know where I can get the workshop manual ? I've got those for my other cars. Skipp
Shouldn't be necessary to replace unless broken. The WSM has a flow diagram showing how it works. Try this link (it's a 94MB pdf file): https://www.dropbox.com/s/2846ng1et19x4cx/246%20GT-GTS%20Repair%20and%20Workshop%20Manual.pdf?dl=0
