Found this Dino in Italy, in a warehouse, with a vast array of other delicious cars, 23K real km, original car, carpets no idea. Has an original USA spec motor on a stand next to it. Car will NEVER be sold, as neither will the other ones, or driven, or started, or... possibly in 30-40 years...and even then, who knows. Unfortunately, short on time that day so few photos. Next time will try to get some more. "Great discovery Alberto, thanks for posting." +, you would have simply loved it. Some really amazing cars, and not one for sale. There, I saw a drop dead, gorgeous wood box from the AR factory, all the markings on it, all original, with a complete, disassembled, NOS Alfa GTA motor wrapped in Alfa paper. I would kill for that, the originality is stunning, imagine the odds of buying one in the time with it remaining in the same box for decades, never used...never will be. Only one in the world. For me, a first. Regards, Alberto
"Car will NEVER be sold, as neither will the other ones, or driven, or started, or... possibly in 30-40 years...and even then, who knows." One of the saddest sentences ever for an enthusiast :/
The 308 is a glass car. The other is an Isotta. Regards, Alberto PS. I have received contact request. I cannot, and will not, per the owners wishes. It is already amazing that this incredibly private person allowed me to take photos. Please, respect his privacy. Besides, NOTHING is for sale. I hope this does not disturb anyone.
Have these cars been collected over many years, or recently? What a pity that they aren't being used, or even just started and run every few weeks!! at least that would keep some maintenance issues at bay. Wonderful that you were allowed a peek at those, and thank you for sharing
The Isotta Fraschini was my Uncle Sal's favorite car. He also loved (lusted after) Wilbur Shaw's Maserati that won the Indianapolis 500 twice. Both cars had transcended being automobiles and had become works of art. Thanks
I think we can all understand the desire for privacy. Out here in Nevada, if some stranger came to my home wanting to poke around in my garage and look at my cars and motorcycles or my art collection or my gun collection, he just might have an unexpected greeting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTaVWamH5YY
Well put. I have the same attitude, as privacy is the one thing I absolutely love and respect. When people ask you in, it is only because you have gained their respect. No other reason. I asked, was graciously granted permission to photograph, and posted what I have. As you can see, no chassis number, even though that was not requested by the owner. Looked it up, and it is completely unknown on Denny Schue's register. All the many other photos I have, do not pertain to Dinoland, so that's it. Regards, Alberto
I can tell a similar story with one of the rarest cars to find.... If I remember right it was 15 years ago when my father and me made a trip to Italy. We visited a friend who was for long period the cook of an Italian restaurant here in Germany before he went back to his hometown in the Rome area. He knew that we were true Alfisti and he took us to a old Alfa Romeo Dealer, where we hoped to get some NOS parts for the 105 series (Spider, Guilia etc.). I could not believe my eyes as in the entrance was an unrestored Alfa Tipo 33 Stradale, one out of 198 ever built ! The car was bought new from dealers father in the 60´s and was used for local races till the 80´s. It was sitting there not used with a low mileage for more than 10 years! But our hope to buy it was quickly destroyed with the same wordings "never, ever be sold"... Son would probably sold it, but his father not. The more I was surprised when I saw this car a few years later on the Modena Track days at the Nürburgring! It was this car with the same dealers sticker on the back. My sadness was a bit reduced as I learned that the buyer had to rebuilt almost everything as the magnesium cast housings of engine and gearbox etc. was badly corroded an I would have not been able to cover that. But .. "never, ever"... (Picture is not this car) Image Unavailable, Please Login
198 ever built ? No, less than 20. Including Carabo, Iguana, Cuneo, Navajo, and some other show cars. The 33 Straddle is one of the most beautifull cars on earth.
