I plan to start a little project to find out what the US Super Ferraris, CS and Scuderia weigh. I'll measure "Curb Weight" which is the weight of the vehicle with all fluids and all accessories, a full tank of gas, and no passengers. I'll use a wireless AccuSet scale from Longacre (Model #72700). If anyone wants me to measure their completely original US car in Southern California, please PM me. It only takes a minute as the car just drives up on 4 small pads. Also, if anyone can post scans of their US Owner's Manuals for the Scuderia, 288, F40, and F50, that would be very much appreciated.

Owner's Manual Curb Weights (US cars)

    CS: 3000 lbs (verified)
    Scuderia: 3086 lbs
    288: ?
    F40: 2976 lbs
    F50: 2712 lbs
    Enzo: 3086 lbs (verified)

    Measured Curb Weights (US cars)

    CS: ?
Scuderia: 3150 lbs (Measured by FChat members, to be verified)
    288:?
    F40:?
    F50: ?
    Enzo:?

I know the USA spec F40 (about 3000 pounds) is about 300 pounds more then the Euro spec (about 2700 pounds), but the weight listed there for the F50 seems off to me. I thought they were all 3000 pounds or so?

    Found this online:
Road weight: 1400 kg. (3080 lb.)

That is a project I had wanted to do myself since I have access to most of those said cars... among others. Unfortunately, I don't have an appropriate means of measuring yet.

    Bill,

Both the Stradale and Scuderia use a 25.1 gallons fuel tank, at 6.25 lbs/gal (156.8 lbs) at 6.28 lbs/gal (157.6 lbs). I use the 6.25 lbs/gal figure as it has been consistent.

My 2009 Scuderia with the optional fire extinguisher, all the tools and books, radio, nav, ipod, subwoofer box and Carbon package weighed 3,100 lbs with 95 lbs of fuel.

    These were the corner weights:

    LF: 669# RF: 664#
    FR: 878#, RR: 889#

We used the computerized scales from my friends at bbi AutoSport in Huntington Beach, while setting the track alignment.

My car with a full tank of fuel should be at 3,162#, and 3,005# empty. I have removed the fire extinguisher and all the tools/manuals, losing 19 lbs. I also left the bulky windshield liquid reservoir empty to reduce another 15 lbs (1.75 gal of windshield cleaner). This brings the empty weight to 2,971 lbs. The subwoofer box weighs 8 lbs, and the head unit close to 2 lbs, so removing the stereo can save another 10 lbs, to reach an empty weight of 2,961 lbs for an U.S version Scuderia.

I doubt that the optional Carbon rear engine lid could save more than 10 lbs, as the standard lid is already aluminum/carbon fiber/lexan and pretty light.

Thanks for the great info on the Scuderia. Are you sure about the fuel tank capacity? The CS owner's manual says the fuel tank is 24.7 gallons and the reserve is 5.3 gallons. Do you add the two to get the total number of gallons the car will hold?

Bill, your results don't seem believable. You should ship the car to me and I'll double check it just to be safe. :D

You're a very ballsy and daring fellow! Handing over one's life savings to Bernie Madoff is less of a risk than attempting to surreptitiously ascertain a woman's weight. You can always stay on my couch if she catches you again. :D

I'm loving the Enzo weight - only 161 pounds more than a Stradale...! Even with a full tank, the Enzo weighs less than the 2000 Nissan Sentra I used to have. Unbelievable.

    Agreed, cool thread.

Bill can you post the specs of each car as well? For instance, it seems the CS is fully stock, but does it have all the tools/books in it? Does the car have radio/fire ext/battery charger options?

    Thanks

All cars are factory stock. The CS includes what you see here. There is no radio, extinguisher, books or charger. The interior is Alacantra.

The CGT has nothing extra other than the roof panels.

The Enzo includes the car cover and tools with a leather interior. No books.

Great thread, thanks for all the effort to nail down these weights.

FYI, I took two further small steps to reduce the weight of my CS. Replaced the OEM Cats (weight 26.5 lbs) with Hyperflows (weight 14.0 lbs). Replaced the OEM battery (weight 42 lbs) with Odessey 925 (weight 22 lbs). The resulting weight reduction of 33.3 lbs seems insignificant, but when the entire weight difference between the 360 Modena and CS is only 180lbs, another 18% reduction in weight from inexpensive changes has some appeal.

Personally, I think it's amazing that the Enzo and 997 GT3 RS weigh within 9 pounds of each other with an empty gas tank. The Enzo motor is twice the size!

We measured this Scud at 1421 kg (42.7% AV, 57.3% AR) i.e. 3129lbs with a full tank of gas minus 50 highway miles.
We also measured loads of other cars, including 30 sport cars of all creeds, my 550 and 355 GTS included. Some are spot on with claims, others ... more optimistic. Porsche not the least with 997 GT3s and GT3 RSs. They are all in the vicinity of 1450 to 1470kg with a full tank depending on options.
