Luca Cordero di Montezemolo announced that Ferrari will present the new 'Enzo' at the end of the year.
Speaking at the Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari president explained to reporters: "It will be 'presented to collectors and it will be a car with three aims: to amaze in terms of technological innovation (rationally not just performance), astonish and amaze in terms of design and amaze with its name.
After calling a car Enzo in tribute to our founder indeed it isn't easy to find a proper name for this car," he concluded.
For 2012, "we want to produce 7,000 cars, maybe a little more but not much," said the Ferrari president, announcing targets for the current year. "In 2011 we opened the Indian market.
This year we want to consolidate various ones. In the U.S.
we're going very, very well compared to last year and are doing very well in Great Britain and Germany." However, he concluded by saying, "We are not doing well in Italy." Ferrari closed 2011 with its best ever results: turnover +17.3 to 2.251 billion euros, profits +3.2% to 312.4 million and cars sold +9.5% to 7195 units.

I guess the new Italian additional road tax based on power output since January 1st this year isn't helping!

For every kilowatt of power over 185Kw you have to pay €20, per year.

The new F12 which is 544kW, thats €7180 per year in Italian power tax, plus there's annual road tax of €1500. Good bye resale value, in Italy.

And as with most taxes, I doubt it'll stay (down) at €20.

The official dealer in Milan/Italy told me today at Geneva that Maserati sold 5 (five) brand new cars in January and Porsche sold 7 (seven) brand new cars in January in ITALY (the entire country, not just in Milan!). That country is DEAD.

Italians will register their cars in Switzerland like Russians do it right now. There is very hight tax for cars in Russia, so four Russians registered their Veyrons in Switzerland. Many years ago there was black Enzo crash in Southern France, car was belong to Russian guy but registered in Switzerland.
Here you have Reventon on street of Saint Petersburg car have Swiss plates.

Can't wait to see it... as long as it doesn't inherit the godawful "mouth" from the FF and F12.

It won't, its going to be mid engined and the last mid engine Ferrari with a full frontal "egg crate grill" was the F355. From everyone I've talked to, in the know, this car will be much more focused on the "experience" than the speed.

From memory, Ferrari normally works the Geneva (March) & Frankfurt (September) motorshows for their new car launches, but I'm waiting for my personal invite to Maranello for the preview :D

They should call it Villeneuve, after Gilles.

After all he made me a fan :D

Would be nice to honor some other great Ferrari F1 driver as well, so it doesn't really matter :)

This is not a good omen. Hopefully they will focus on both! They really have to outdo competition once again.

    I don't get it .....

The successor / replacement for the Enzo is also going to be called the Enzo ?????

Does that mean that the new car will just be an evolution of the previous Enzo, rather than a completely new model ????
