Congratulations Bill! You'll be interested to know Ive sold two F50s in the past 60 days, they are certainly commanding strong numbers.
Hello Bill, Why seats are red, did replace them for track? I have a better picture, but it seems that Fchat impossible to download with my subscription... I will send it to you by mail. Not a very large picture but beautiful...
Congratulations, Bill. It was great seeing you at Cavallino. Your car was certainly one of the highlights of the weekend.
Look like seat covers...rather than actual seats...got to keep them clean...especially if entering a concours a day or two later... Paul
Thank you! It was our first time at Cavallino. Yep, seat covers. Track on Wednesday and Thursday, drive to Breakers and airport Thursday evening, dust off on Friday, Platino on Saturday. Thank you! F50 is our favorite Ferrari for the street. Seat covers for track use. Great photo Christian! Here it is... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had i known it was you, i would have introduced myself! The car was gorgeous. I didnt see it running as i arrived late at the track. It was one of the highlights of this cavallino for sure!
Never mentioned it but the seats look great. When I last saw the car they showed more use than now because I did give them a good look. Whoever made them pretty again gets a big thumbs up. Always nice to see important cars go to a good home.
Thanks Brian for noticing the seats. We spent severals days on each seat with a shaver followed by chemical cleaning.
Bill's F50 was a good one when we sold it to him, he has simply taken it up to another level, as he has the GTO, F40 & Enzo, the point being some of these cars are falling into great enthusiast hands in recent times, and this is good for both the marque and the individual models. Very nice to see from my POV.
Thanks Joe. Driven Ferraris CAN win Platino. I strongly encourage all Ferrari owners to drive and show. A 100,000 mile Ferrari could be a 100 point car. All of my Ferraris are driven on the road and track and all can achieve 100 points. I applaud the VERY experienced judges at Cavallino and their very professional judging rules and guidelines. The value and desirability of a Ferrari is in its extreme originality, completeness and condition. Not its mileage.
Great post, I'm a believer in that notion, in fact, the more often the car is driven, the more the owner will notice certain components that can be refurbished or improved, so the net result is, over time you end up with a stunning example both aesthetically & mechanically. Some cars do get better with time.
That has been the intention from the outset and a big part of the reason the IAC/PFA was formed. Some organizations methodology requires a trailer queen to compete at the highest levels and we consider that to be counterproductive to the overall goals of car preservation. Rules are regularly examined and adjusted as required to keep it that way. You and your car make an excellent example of our goals. It is one of the reasons we have unlimited platinos instead of 1st, 2nd, 3rd. We believe everyone who exhibits that level of stewardship deserves recognition. Hope we will see you at future events.
