https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPYPmsnm44Q Great car. Crazy they're up to $1mm now, but not surprising.
The car 'speaks' for yourself. With all sort of respect for J.Leno , I don't even need his word about the F40 to admire that car. We all do, I assume.
quote 100%! "His favourite".. what? Leno doesn't like Ferrari, end of the story. this is just television...
He doesn't like how he got treated at Ferrari dealers so didn't give them his business. Years ago he debunked the rumour that he doesn't like Ferrari, quite the opposite in fact.
...Leno has never bought Ferraris cause a 40 years old disagreement ? He is more touchy than Kim Jong-un! Leno has never bought Ferrari because he does not like it, it's so simply
F40s... F40s everywhere... https://emwgradstudent.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/jay_leno_supercars_opener_01.jpeg
Fair enough don't buy a new Ferrari if you are not happy with the factory or its dealer network but I don't understand why he does not have any pre owned ones in his collection, they would not need to be purchased via a factory dealer either then. He clearly likes the F40 and it would fit very nicely into his collection.
I don't know how this guy (Leno) became a talk show host. His unenthusiastic, monotone delivery, full of meaningless chit chat is more useful as a sleep aid than it is engaging. YAWN. "Wow when the turbos come in it ........... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
Years ago I got treated bad by a Lexus dealership. I will never set foot back in one nor ever buy a Lexus due to the bad experience. I understand his feelings well.
The germans bombed my grannie in the blitz, the chickens on their farm stopped laying for months after apparently. The engines on those planes were built by Daimler, if I lusted after a previously owned car that was subsequently built by that company I would not feel the need to cut my nose off to spite my face and not take one on as a result. Maybe that's just me, surely you can only hold a grudge for so long.
In one of his many videos, he does speak to the financial reason not to buy Ferraris. He says something along the lines of, with year over year increasing prices of Ferraris, he can purchase a number of neat and interesting cars for the price of one of the Ferrraris that he finds desirable. Given the breadth of his collection, it makes sense to me that a few million would be distributed over a number of different cars rather than in a single prestigious Ferrari, especially factoring in the amount of money spent on restoring his vehicles. This coming from a guy who likes steam cars. Where's the financial investment there? Jay is a car enthusiast. No, a great car enthusiast. Fantastic. But he's just one of many. What he likes he likes. It makes no difference to anyone else but him.
Leno sometimes doesn't speak his mind. He still keeps a lot of secrets, especially car wise. He could have had a stash of Ferrari somewhere that no one knows. I think he made like 3 videos on 918, most people's take away is that he doesn't like it. But how many knows that he actually bought one? It is a fact, but he doesn't keep the car at his big garage.
