This is the 328 GTB registry for cars imported to the US. First, I would like to acknowledge the work done by Larry O'Rourke in creating the original 328 GTB registry, without which this one would not be possible. The reason I am creating a registry here is it can be updated by anyone at anytime and so it doesn't rely on one "editor" for updates or corrections. Regarding the format, it will start as simply a list of serial numbers with the color. But as more information is gathered, it should be added under the serial number, preceded with the date the information was published. That way, things like mileage and other key events can be captured when they were published. This helps to identify different cars from the same era. Lastly, I welcome any suggestions, additions or corrections. With no further introduction, here it is. -F 1986 61013 R/T 61015 R/T 61141 61177 metB/T 61181 R/B 61329 R/T a Mondial, remove from list 61327 R/T 61327 61347 S/T 61731 R/T 61973 R/B 62027 R/T 62165 R/T 62813 S/B 63100 64291 R/T 65045 B/Sad 65339 R/CR 65529 B/B 66241 66511 R/T 1987 67033 R/T 67255 R/T 67527 R/B 68233 B/B 68671 R/B 68871 R/B a 412, remove from list 69027 R/B 69169 S/B a GTS, remove from list 69179 R/T 70147 W/R 71549 R/T -door handle change- 72029 R/T 72629 R/T 1996, July, FML, Forza, 13,000 miles 73339 R/T 73369 Y/T 73911 R/T a GTS, remove from the list 74273 R/CR 1988 74609 Y/T 74747 R/T 75063 R/T 75267 R/C 75373 W/T 75593 R/T 75808 R/T 75912 S/R -emblem on mirrors- 75962 R/B 76110 R/B 76140 R/T 76235 R/T 76514 S/R 76518 R/T 76632 R/T 1988.5 -convex wheels- 77068 B/B 77262 R/T 77338 R/T 77394 R/T 77691 78225 R/T 78555 R/T 78680 R/T 78702 R/T 78714 R/T 1989 78881 R/T 78894 R/T 79054 R/T 79076 R/T 79124 R/T 79349 R/T 79392 R/T 79422 R/B 79659 R/T 79663 R/T 79710 R/T 79730 80029 R/T 80050 R/T 80054 R/T 80281 B/B 80364 R/Tob 80377 R/T 80667 R/T 80882 R/B 81053 R/T 81066 R/B 81203 S/B 81597 R/T 81750 R/B 82526 R/T 82566 R/T 82906 GRN/T likely the last 328 GTB imported to the US 83526 R/T a Testarossa, remove from list
I have a question. I have about 4800 328's so far in my records. I do not have complete vins for all and so there is some percentage that it is impossible to tell at this time what market they were built for. Also many were brought here as grey market cars. Considering the above, do you want to keep this list as confirmed US version cars?
I would prefer to keep the list to confirmed US versions. Otherwise it goes from a short list to a potentially long list. Of course any serial numbers on your list that go from unknown market to confirmed US or at least suspected US market are welcome. -F
OK. As I have time I'll add them to your list. Also I use the Italian names for colors. It helps to differentiate the blues and greens. I suggest the same for you. And asking for month/year of production would be great. I would also ask owners/former owners of particular cars feel free to make corrections. Not all sources of info are 100%.
Thank you for your help Brian, it is appreciated. Good point, I'll edit the colors to the Italian names over time. On a related note, I suspect many Tan interiors are actually Beige. Yes please, the more input the better. -F
Beige is Italian for tan so I suspect you are correct. Beige and Crema get mixed up and many in the UK call Beige Tobacco so that kind of caught on. They didn't make Tobacco as a standard color but as we know anything was available on request.
Confirmation it is a GTB. Specific color of exterior and interior would be nice. Date of production would be nice too. Any unusual options like full leather interior or spoiler delete, that kind of thing. Keep an eye on the thread. As it gets more fully developed we may ask for more details.
Well definately a GTB Nero Metalico? and Tan. Original dealer Shelton in FLA. I will have to check the prod. date I don't remember off-hand. There were dealer installed rubber bumpers all the way around in the body channel other than that no options other than Metalic paint. The roof spoiler is textured which I guess some GTB's were smooth.
No, its a euro spec std version. The first car(change over) with the new suspension and wheels. It also has abs and a leather headliner.
Thanks for organizing this! #61015 is mine since 2001 30K current miles, 11/85 build date, Foreign Cars Italia Multiple Platinum awards including Annual Meet

Brian, thanks for the extra numbers. Are they all confirmed US cars? Regarding the interior color you write 'C Beige'. Is that just a 'cover all' for Crema/Beige aka Tan cars? -F
