I really enjoy finding the old road tests and literature. I hope you don't mind my posting from time to time with the original brochures and articles.

Most of you have at least dabbled in the Porsche world. Here's a good article from Motor dated August 26, 1978. The Porsche 911SC was the newest series of 911, the 308GTS was recently introduced to the world.

    Hope you enjoy this. Jeff

p.s. sorry about pg 3, it is upside down so you will have to rotate it or fly inverted.

Two of my favourite cars!!! Great.

Back in 1978, they were already complaining about the weight of new Ferraris!

Those top gear 30-50 times are not good on the 308. I looked up my copy
    Of
Super car of Seventy's - and 30-50 9.9'sec. Holy cow. I took a friend and stop watch ( bit rough ) and consistently did 30-50 in six seconds flat.

    Electronic ignition helps me thinks.

I'll eat my shoe if an SC goes to 60 in 6.1 seconds. My 3.2 Carrera could barely do that.

No, the first thing that I purchased for my 308 after it acquisition was not a set of belts, it was the following......

    http://www.amazon.com/Ferrari-Dino-Mondial-1974-85-Portfolio/dp/1855203588/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314583495&sr=8-1

Too many old articles to count. The 911 SC comparison article was in there. Heck, it may have just about every article ever published in the major car mags. Really fun to see the old performance figures, and how these cars were compared (quite favorable mind you) to some of its contemporaries at the time, including its V12 brethren from Maranello. I consider it a must own for anybody really into 308s, and they publish these books for many other makes and marques btw.
