Bodywork completed. Final coat of primer sprayed today. Tomorrow sanding, cleaning, cleaning of the residual trunk underlayment adhesive. Friday white based primer. About 6 weeks behind schedule but well worth the extra effort. Targeting Monday for the first base coat of many. Decided to go with two stage. Trying to match up closest to Glasurit FER 102 (Giallo Fly).

Think can have it on the road towards end of this Spring.

My 2x4 on rollers started to crack on the rear so replaced with a homemade metal U piece and welded the rollers to that. The front on the 2x4 is still holding up well, though starting to sag a little.....really should replace that one as well before anything happens.

Great work URAS! I'll be jealous of your yellow GTB. Would be a nice pair with my TR. I hope to meet you at Italian car day if you go.

seems you will re-install the US sidemarkers

Was going with euro side lights, but with the way prices are going, sticking to stock. For budget paul, it has been spread out over 9 years as the kids university came first. But including acquisition cost, it will end up about $100,000. BUT, it was not the money, I always wanted one of these!

later this week I will post pictures andrew. I have been tied up with work related items and picking up/dropping off kids for their spring breaks from university. and it was not the intent as I wanted to finish the gtb first...but I have been spending all my time on the restoration of a e type and a 420g. I was told in no uncertain terms that I better not have the gtb on the road before she has her xke ready as she has been waiting longer and blah blah blah blah! what I thought would be a 1 day work on the 420g interior woodwork, turned into a solid 4 days over the last 3 weeks. now I know why shops wanted $4,000 to refinish the wood!

    thanks claude.
it is like minus 30 degrees Celsius today. my friend's furnace at the shop went kaput. so could not do the entire spray. hopefully the furnace will be fixed today (better be or he will have burst water pipes) and most likely tomorrow the first base coat on the remainder of the car.
after 9 years it is finally starting to come together.......well worth the wait.....and yes, i am falling in pleased with the colour.
i dont know why.....i have other cars but the 308 gtb just holds a special spot for me and I really believe it is the BEST style i have ever seen, even better than the e-type (even though enzo ferrari said the e-type was “The most beautiful car ever made!”, i believe it was the 3x0's).

Vince this is SOOOOOOOOO nice. I love it. I understand why I wanted my TR in this color. I agree with you the 308 is one of the nicest car ever made. I want to see this car in person when I go don't to Toronto area. Makes me want to start sanding mine to paint it back to silver.

Can't wait to see it all done. Keep post progression.
