Dear Friends, I just agreed to buy one of Al's Ferraris. I never had a new Ferrari before but looks like I will now! I hope to use this thread as a way to document the restoration of this fine automobile. One of my first Ferrari friends Brian K who is working with Al is a parts wizard extraordinaire and I am assured that I will get a car better than left the factory as new. As many of you know I have been a hardcore GT4 supporter and all around Tifoso and now I will have a US & Euro car parked neatly side by side, amazingly with consecutive assembly numbers 409 & 410. Now how perfect is that! The heart of every Ferrari is the engine and and since it was my heart that made this decision, the first picture will be that. I think I'll take that new Ferrari in red! Sincerely, Rob The train has just left the station! Dont be left behind he has two more! Unbelievable, Robert... I can only imagine the excitement and anticipation you must be experiencing right now. All of us, at one time or another, have been guilty of internet "window shopping." However, to find the chronological brother to the car you already own must've felt like opportunity not just knocking, but pounding with a sledgehammer, on the door. Congratulations - enjoy in good health. You may be the ultimate GT4 steward!
Rob, that is awesome! Congratulations on getting a stunning new baby! Which color did you choose... and are you going to let Al do a rear seat delete? Let me know the S/N and I'll update our list.
By the way, without getting in to pricing specifics - we all saw the other threads regarding these restorations, and I think it's fair to now say...the market has spoken.
+1 I expected it would happen, only the buyer would be paying with pounds or euros. I'm really happy to see that one is going to a loving home (instead of an investment club).
Friends, I have opted for a totally stock car with no side mirrors, red and I think painted all the way down as the early cars are. This is one of less than 80 1974's. I am very excited, however the black helicopters flying over my house are scaring me! Please go buy my stuff on ebay!!! Rob
Awesome!!! I can't wait to see the finished pics. Are you going with the original interior color or picking your own? If I didn't already have two 308's and trying to buy a house I would be right behind you getting the blue euro car.
Well done and good for you. Brian K was also one of my first Ferrari friends. I hope he is doing well.
Holy Cow Robert! You are insane (and I mean that in a good way)!!!! Congratulations on another new family member. Auguri! Best Wishes, Dom
Friends, I was not sure if I could do this, but after hearing how these cars are being built, with every attention to detail I am a believer. Even though this is a stretch for me I decided either be first in line or be last..... Enough talking. One picture is with a thousand words so here is an whole essay! Rob whose biggest task will be not loving one child more than the other..... At least I think you all understand, everyone I know is saying let me get this straight you are going to have two of the same car red/balck car??????????? I tried to explain to no avail & I think you guys get it. Trust me I wanted Als 365 GTB4 too but my credit ran out just thinking about it! Baron von Rob! HA Hey how easy is it to replace the front to rear hoses when the car is like this!!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
