Question for Australian owners of carbureted 308

    I have noticed that Australian owners of 308 carbureted have a wet sump engine with two distributors and air pump device (like US cars have).
    But I have seen several Ferrari specification tag normally riveted on the right side of the engine bay, of the same kind of tag as the Euro ones showing an F 106 A 021 engine.
    This number is normally assigned to the dry sump engines.

    Is all Australian original vehicle owners have this "wrong" label ?

    I have never seen a picture showing an Australian engine number to see what is stamped...

    I believe all the carb GTBs were dry sump, all the GTSs wet sump. Aust cars are a mish-mash of US and Euro spec for local pollution and crash safety compliance, eg small bumpers, but intrusion bars; air pumps, but no cats; halogen headlights but large US style side marker lights

    Sorry Pat, you're wrong.

    There were no Australian delivered dry sump cars.

    And all US GTBs are wet sump as well.
    Any of Australian cars owner have a picture of engine stamp ?

    Are you saying that all 1976 glass cars, which all had dry sumps, were not Aust delivered? The OP asked if Aust carby cars were wet sump. Clearly this is not the case, if the 1976 cars were Aust delivered. I assumed Jon's was Aust delivered too, as not so many private imports back then. A dealer told me about the dry sump GTB bit - so taken with a grain of salt, I guess (should have known better). I did cover myself by saying "I believe".

    My car is a 1976 Carby glass car...Aussie delivered. It's not dry sump.

    Hope that clarifies.

    NO dry sump cars are aussie spec

    So actually, you are wrong...not all 1976 glass cars are dry sump.

    Well bugger me, I did not know that. The very first Ferrari I ever looked at buying was a glass dry sump car, and I've always assumed they all were.
