Nice, these lights are becoming very scarce.

And the original plastic pouches tear easily and get out of shape as well. They are even more difficult to find!

Did ever car come with one? My 308 and 328 did not have one... and I did not see it listed in Keith Blummell's book - so wondering what the originality is supposed to be?

I bought one in the original pouch from a fellow F-Chatter for the 328. I'd be interested to know what percentage of cars were sold with this option

Nov '86 build 328: I have the light and the black pouch (minor separation at the seam). Don't appear to have ever been used. I assume to be original to the car but I don't have a copy of spec sheet.

If anyone of you wants one, please let me know. We are making a few more, same as the pictures at the beginning of this thread. Thanks!

I found one for my '85 GTS QV and would welcome hearing from original owners where the light was placed when new. In the jack roll? Loose in trunk? In one of the door pockets? Came separate with owner's documents/keys/etc? Maybe there is no correct or incorrect, but I keep it in the door pocket. It would get crushed in the jack roll. Thanks robo330 for making these pouches!

The cars were delivered from the factory with it loose in the trunk as was the jack and tool kits. There is no correct placement for it. In the 308 and the 328 up to about mid 87 there was a rubber strap designed to hold the tools and jack kit in place. On cars with no strap leaving the tools and jack unmounted will make dents in the fenders. In those cars I suggest storage with the spare tire.

Good advice. I store my roll in the front in my 1989 too.

I wonder why they dropped the straps? They are very well designed, imo. My old 80 didn't have them & it was a nice thing to discover on the 78 I bought.

As I recall it was in the jack roll along with the bulk kit and spared AC and WP belts.

Many people keep it there but the factory did not deliver that way. I have seen them broken by the jack so it is not my recommendation.

I usually keep my emergency light in the glove box between the seats. Please avoid to keep it in the jack bag!

    ciao
