About to pull the trigger on purchasing a Tubi "Loud" Exhaust for my '85 QV (US-Spec). But being the anal person that I am, I am going back and forth between their option to choose the standard exhaust tip or their "Bordino" style rolled tip exhaust option. I've attached photos of each. Which do you prefer!?

I would go for the standard exhaust tip... Looks better IMO

I have a Tubi on my QV.

    I would stay with "standard"

I also would say the 'standard' vs the rolled tips.

I put a Tubi on my Euro 84 QV last year - I'd also vote for the standard tips, I've never seen that rolled style on a 308 and it would just scream 'aftermarket', not in a good way.

Are you sure you want the loud version? I went with the standard Tubi, and it's plenty loud for me...

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I'm happy to announce I opted for the standard tip look. I too was concerned about the rolled look when I couldn't, for the life of me, find any tubi with rolled tips on a 308 as a comparison. I assumed it would detract from the look of the era. Only rolled exhaust I've been finding are on the more modern models such as the F40 or 458 etc.

And Gordon...your video was actually one of the inspirations for my choice to go with Tubi. Love your sound but you have the cat delete option which I imagine amplifies the sound a bit more. I'll be running a high-flow single cat (for US-spec QV's) on mine, so I went for the added noise. Even if it turns out a bit louder than I was expecting, I'll be ok with it. Also, many have complained of gasoline smell on targa models for those with the cat delete option.

    Well...nitpicking here, but nevertheless...
Euro cars do not have a "cat delete" option: the "Euro" engine has no cat, so nothing has been deleted.

There is a very, very colorfull french expression for that, which I dare not employ here out of fear of getting banned....

I'm sorry, you cannot leave us hanging on that. You have to give us a few clues, at least.
We're all grown ups here. I've even been know to shout 'Bother!' when I've hit my thumb with a 5lb lump hammer, so I doubt if you can shock me.

Well..."nitpicking" is usually translated in the common french langage (very colloquial) by an expression involving doing things to mothes (plural of "moth") that are, let's say "physically impossible"...

Take the cat off between checks.

It will be plenty loud enough, believe me.

FWIW, I bought mine from T Rutlands, they had the best pricing by a large margin at the time - late 2015.

Buying mine from Eurospares in the U.K. Seemed to have the best pricing, especially given the exchange rate.

Great sound. So I'm assuming the pops and crackles are due to there being no cats in the Euro models. Anyone have a sound clip of a US QV with a Tubi on it? I would love to get one as we all know the 308's could sound better. And it's always reversible when it comes time to sell which is a good thing.

Not a Tubi but here's my 84 QV US with my old Ansa exhaust at full throttle. I have Larini exhaust now: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk24UF-Xg_A
