There's gotta be a barris collector out there that has to have this thing to command that price. I don't have any personal experience with the guy BUT I'VE READ SO MANY PLACES he was a rip off artist and a hack (my trump like statement for the day!).

Wow, that got worked over. It's a time capsule. And a Watchman on the console Mr. Barris always went all-out. I was looking for the Oil Slick and Smokescreen buttons. I'm sure that there is someone who's willing to pay 200 grand for it. That's Russian oligarch material.

I take it that poor thing has an upgraded fuse block...

I'm actually on the hunt for a carb 308 at the moment..............and this wouldn't be it if it was the LAST carb 308 on the planet. Aside from the scroll work on the hood, the black and white Sony watchman is easily my favorite part of this Frankenstein mess.

Actually, would be interesting to know the background story here. Barris created K.I.T.T. for Knight Rider, which came out on the heels of Magnum PI. If it turns out this was a prototype for that, and it's the missing link between Robin 1 and the trans am, it's worth it.

FYI, car was featured in Knight Rider Season 3, Episode 4, "Knights of the Road." Just threw in the DVD, not a bad opening drag race. Was sporting a black Nardi steering wheel at the time.

Episode was called "Knights of the Road," about a gang of outlaw Fast N' Furious style street racers (apparently it was called bonzai racing back then). For copyright reasons, the Ferrari was called the Dagger DX, an Italian race car with 610hp and capable of 0-60 in 3.6sec:)

No wonder they jacked up the lines of the car, then. Avoiding a phone call from Enzo.

I have the same wood steering wheel, with chrome spokes though and a custom wood shift knob with cavallino inlay in my Ferrari. I thought I was being so original, making it my own.

What an original take on an already well discussed design.

    I think it's cool.

Not 200k cool but it would be fun to drive.
