Has anyone used the ZF1240304570 synchro rings which seem to be replacements for the original 1249304278? I have found a few of the ZF 570 rings at around $200 and this is the part number on those advertised by many of the usual suppliers. There aren't many left so before I buy a few to keep with the car I'd like to hear from anyone using them. Thanks, derek

I was in touch with them (see below.) brass may be kinder to the cones, anyone using these brass rings? There is an interesting discussion here in part relating to 'yellow-colored' metal syncros and tranny oils. Might want to read it first.
I saw that thread and learned a fair bit. I didn't know the GL5 was hard on copper alloys and have decided to try MTL when I get my car back together. Has anyone used a 1st-3rd synchro from Ferrparts, Dinoparts and any others selling the 1249304570 ring? Was it a straight fit, how has it worked?
Hi Derek, I bought synchro's 1-3 from Dinoparts two years ago when I rebuilt the box in my 81 GTSi. I can't remember the part number but I'm guessing they'd be the same. Fitted perfectly, good clearance and have driven maybe a thousand km with them, no issues Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Richard. I think the ...278 rings have been finished for a number of years (except perhaps for a few small personal stashes.) I'll let everyone know when I get mine how they compare. Cheers derek
