Talk of doubling the profits has double the stock price. Forget about how much your 308 will be worth in a year. Dump that old car and buy the stock if you are looking for an investment.

So I should have bought more than $2000 when it began?

I sold my 930 when Porsche introduced the Cayenne. Couldn't make the brand leap.

Most consumers won't care... but I do.

I bought 100 shares back when it came out. Very happy with that investment so far. An SUV? Don't do it. Let Maserati build the SUV - more in line with their sport sedan offerings. What's next - a pickup truck a la Mercedes? Enzo wouldn't bow to Ford, now Sergio is bowing to Al Gore with this electric car nonsense. Wall Street may love this stuff but Enzo is spinning in his grave with this loss of focus.

FUV? It is an F U indeed.

I hope this doesn't happen and agree that it'd be better if they did this through another brand, like Maserati. Sadly, I bet the rumors are true. :(

I know the majority of us all prefer NOT to see a SUV from Ferrari, however its going to happen... its just a matter of time!!! Just like the crappy HALO idea for all F1 cars in 2018.

With all the changes to things like the Classiche program, model lineup....Ferrari marketing looks more like Chanel in terms of brand image. McLaren is the new Ferrari (flame suite zipped)!

If you oppose the SUV you might be surprised to learn that there was much opposition to the fiberglass bodied 8 cylinder 308 when first introduced. The Ferrari club considered only allowing the 12 cylinder cars into the club, as they were the only "real" Ferraris. Plastic bodied V8s were just Italian Corvettes. Dino's weren't discussed because they weren't Ferraris and not permitted in the club. So now SUVs don't belong? You might find out otherwise. Look on the bright side, it will make a cool tow vehicle for a Challenge car.

That argument has always been one of my favorite displays of complete Ferrari history ignorance over the years.

Starting to produce SUVs is a much bigger departure than changing materials of body panels and numbers of cylinders. It's a false equivalency to consider the addition of SUVs the same. Ferrari is a race car and sports car manufacturer. Leave the soccer mom vehicles to other manufacturers.

The platform they need already exists. I'm envisioning a FF with an additional 6 inches of ground clearance and a taller body.

That would have been a good financial move! The stock is up more than 40% over the past couple of months.

It's now trading over $110. The stock is doing much better than the cars. Ferrari is paying for my next major. How nice of them!

I think if this plan is officially announced I might "cash in" my 328 too.

I will keep my Lotus Esprit which is just as good a car (better in many ways) but does not have the positive brand image of Ferrari. Without the brand I might as well stick with the Lotus.

I can't stand the idea of a Ferrari SUV. But it won't make my 308 any less enjoyable.

Bingo. And btw, the 'Lamoot' (Lambo LM 002) didn't hurt Lamborghini's image one bit. I would argue it's actually an iconic machine in their history. I think a Ferrari SUV has the chance to be a design concept that moves the genre ahead. Give it a chance, and let's see what they come up with. It is happening no matter how much the purists reject it.

Well, Lamborghini has the heritage since it was a tractor producing company. That said, my Cayenne Turbo S is an absolutely astonishing piece of engineering that would sit proud in any Lambo lineups. As for Ferrari, I'll sit on the fence. If they do it, then it had better be spectacular. If they need to move with the times, I think I'd rather see them take up the electro space.
