Lame question, but I have no idea how the glovebox light in my 348TS is supposed to switch on.

Just opening the glove compartment doesn't work, nor does operating any light switch (eg Dome)

I've checked the globe...it's fine. I'm now running out of ideas....the manual gives no clues.

    Thanks
    Peter

On my 348ts, the glove box light comes on whenever the ignition switch is "on" and the glove box lid is open. I don't remember where the switch is for the open position, I don't see it right away.

According to the parts book, the microswitch for the glove box light appears to be on the back of the left hinge - this is on a LHD car, not sure which hinge it would on with a RHD car. The light receives power from fuse #5, which also supplies the wiper motor, the stop lights, and the power mirrors. If you're sure the bulb is OK (visually, or did you actually test it?) then the next thing to do would be to check for power at the bulb socket when the ignition is on and the lid is open. If you DON'T have power at the socket, then the switch or the wiring is suspect. If you DO have power at the socket, then you probably have a bad contact at the bulb or a ground problem. You can fix it!

You know I never figured this out. On my Spider, the light was on all the time and I just ignored it. :)

Well I replaced the bulb and it still does not work. Everything else works, wipers, side mirrors so It must be the micro switch on the hinge. Has anyone fixed there mirco switch and can let me know how its done ?
    Thanks
