Hi everyone! Rui(RGigante) and I decided to help a mutual friend with his Ferrari 348 tb. The car needed a cambelt change and after some careful inspection we discovered other things to do such as replacing the axel shaft bolts since one was broken , gearbox oil and coolant change. The owner didn´t have much information on the car´s service history so we agreed on taking it a step further , we would see if some of the factory updates were done on this particular car since the car has now 76.000 km. So here is our big adventure with plenty of photos !! Hope you enjoy it ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is, in fact, a big adventure, but a pleasure to help a friend and big Ferrari enthusiast! Get ready for a FULL service on this 348 ....
One of the items to be replaced will be the 2 hood shock absorbers since they are "dead" for a long time!!!! On this next photo you can see the broken axle shaft bolt... Image Unavailable, Please Login
One big problem with this particular car was various oil leaks , plenty of them to be honest!! The alternator was full of oil!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
All this oil came from the same place ... the cam covers and cam seals so we assumed that this particular car didn´t have any update on the cam seal oil drain holes ... so now it´s time to do it!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
So ... time to start working and out with the engine!!! Look at the color of the coolant... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Time to take care of the gearbox cables Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The coolant looked terrible .... we're pretty sure it was there for a long time, even if our friend has payed for it to be changed !
Time to take care of all electrical parts , water and fuel hoses Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The same happened to the gearbox oil , here are some photos! It hasn´t been changed for a long long time !! Redline will be used now! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The process of taking out the engine was similar to the one we used on my Testarossa in 2009 , so quite straight forward. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is always an interesting moment to see the complete subframe out. It is one of those pictures I really like.
