    Good day everybody. Here is my sad story. See pics and quoted milestones below.

    Everything started on 28th of February 2011 with my inquiry for parts for my damaged 348.

    I received a total of 7437,61 euro. On my question why the price was so high I received the answer that the parts are new and after short negotiation I received a discount and the total became 6900 euro. Understanding parts were new and in stock I judged this offer as reasonable for me. So I transferred payment in 2 parts on 18th and 20th of March. After long waiting, promises and negotiation finally on 16th of June arrived the parcel.

    There were only half of my parts! Foglights and grill! And I was accenting that I desperately need bonnet to keep on with my restro project. Ok, ok. We’ve got rare exotic cars and all this stuff. I know, I know. If I have to wait I will. But I have to be warned about estimate time, you know all this plans and time management cause when I asked ‘in stock’ I meant somewhere in a warehouse.

    After my tough letters I’ve received the parcel on 3rd of August. I subtract all the time parcels were in customs just the dates of me being notified by TNT Express of it’s arrival to Russia. And it was again not complete, the headlamp was missing. But well it’s ok I can start my repair. And what I saw inside the parcel? Damaged everywhere piece of metal. Even the frame of the bonnet was damaged, airbox was drilled out, no grill and of course it was used item.

    Someone tried to repair it with no great success, resprayed it with the can: white colour outside, black inside. Damage was even still marked with colour marker. See pics below. I wrote to Mr Vertrano everything I think about this situation and asked him to refund me according to the item being used. As an answer I read lots of things about myself and even Russia in general and was given 24h to send it back immediately cause he was going to sell it for 5000 euros to someone else…

    So I had the only option and sent it back (within 24h of course, I always try to keep my word). Than were hundreds of emails blaming me of everything that can be imagined: being fraud (how’s that?), not being able to repair it and so on.

    Well actually I could repair it. One of my businesses is a car repair center that already exists for 20 years and employs something like 150 specialists but not willing to pay 2800 euros for damaged bonnet while I can purchase a straight one for 500 euro. ‘2800 euro circa’ I was promised to be refunded upon receiving but than he tried to push me: first he told he has no return policy, than he said 30% off return policy, than he said my price was a package deal a he’ll have to charge me 12000 euro!!! Can you imagine all this? All his prices are still listed on his site (www.lascuderiarossa.com) so I received only 10% discount on the package and not 50%.

    At the moment the parcel is at Italian customs and while it is a reclamation due to Italian laws it should be cleared anyway once being exported. Orlando Vertrano refuses to pay custom tax (180 euro) and if he warned me in advance I could have marked the parcel with zero value but he didn’t. I’m going to pay this tax and make him refund my payment for the bonnet and the headlamp while I still haven’t received it.

    After all this I HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND you La Scuderia Rossa and Orlando Vertrano.

    Quotes will be in a short time. I'm actually on vacation to Italy so my wife don't allow me to spend too much time in front of the screen. ;)

    I believe a former sponsor here, and perhaps still a lurker.

    Not sure if he's permanently banned or not.

    LSR has a rich and vibrant history in the Ferrari community, dating back to some early interactions with the guys in the 206/246 forum here.

    I have, in the distant past, purchased a few items from him. I did not experience any difficulties, but it appears that my experience is the exception that makes the rule.

    That hood is garbage.. He should use that on his car.. Anything can be repaired yes.. but the manner in which that hood was in process of repairs is disgusting and rookie.. He must deal with Shoe Makers.. the majority of the body shops in Italy are such as well. It does not matter what types of cars they work on.. I have been appraising cars for 21 years.. I would prefer to have the hood untouched if it were repairable.

    I would have purchased them off Daniel at Ricambi.

    Guaranteed quality parts and definately will not take advantage of you.

    Even if some of his parts are more expensive the quality and customer service aspect is what counts.

    Hope you can get money back.

    What concerns bank, it is just an operator they can't do something on they own, they need something like judgment or at least police case. Well it's one of the options but at the moment I want to see will this person keep his word or not.
    What concerns Ricambi, well of course price and opportunity to buy everything in one place bought me.

    If you bought a bonnet elsewhere cheaper from a private person and try write rubbish about a business that sent you a rare part unobtainable. Then your right!

    But when the business saw you where not happy and askes you to kindly send back for a newer bonnet and you still refuse it ...means your trying to scam here!

    I seen that only bonnet in 5 months .Had one the time of ordered but was paid after 6 weeks since request! It was sold in that time!

    I wanted sincerly to get this 348 out of the workshop and sent the bonnet as I found it (I do not build them!!!) Its a RARE part, instead of complaining to me fix the car!

    Its only excuses as even new pannels bought from factory are not ready for immediate painting ...ask any workshop that buys factory parts! they always needed preparation before painting!

    The only mistake I did was ONE!!!! Send you the part without preparing it! My mistake and now receive this complaint from ignorant people that do not know anything about cars! By the way the photos you send make the bonnet look far worse than what I have sent you!


    This is a real joke! I can't believe it!

    But lucky it was a 348 cause if it were a dino 246 and the part was worse for age and all you would have still been here complaining even thought the car parts are unobtainable! But if you realise parts not obtainable ,maybe its better you buy a 458. Atleast you will find a bonnet at factory price:2900 euro plus 20% sales tax. atleast you will be happier!

    I tried to be as close to the facts as possible with no emotions. If you'll point me at any mistake made by me I'll bring you my deepest apologies immediately.
    Everything is quoted here. You said '2800 circa' and 'send within 24h'. I've done what I was asked to.
    And I didn't bought anything elsewhere before receiving a bonnet from you. I just told you that I'm not out of my mind to pay 2800 euro for a used bonnet in any condition.

    You've maid not only 'ONE' mistake:
    1. You didn't inform me you were out of stock with this part.
    2. You didn't inform me you've got no idea when you'll find one.
    3. You didn't inform me I'll receive a used item.

    As I already have told you we are talking about 348 and not Dinos or any other old car. And as I already told you it is my business what car I do own and keep your suggestions with you.

    One transaction with LSR that went well but full of communications about price increases above his price list. He does have access to parts that are impossible to find elsewhere. The transaction usually involves irrational intrigue which I think he likes because it gives him a prolonged feeling of power. I agree fully with the comments about his personality. Use him when you must, avoid him when you don't need him. I have never been able to understand the Italian Ferrari aftermarket community. You might think that with all the Ferrari garages located around the factory that they would get involved in this community and try to generate competition for LSR. However I think the "Mafioso" concept is fully implemented in these areas.

    If you'll ask him for any part he'll tell you that he's got it. Then you'll send him money and only after he'll began to think about where to find this part.
