    And we are out the door and headed west. Got a stop at our daughter's college for a quick ceremony and then onward to the celebration. My wife and I are packed for the fun roadtrip. Looking forward to meeting LDM. Meeting up with the AZ group for the parade.

    I'll post lots of updates and photos from the trek.

    We headed out around noon today from the east side of Mesa, AZ. Took the 101 loop toward the NW side of the metro area to see our daughter.

    We wrapped up with her at 3 and headed out to get away from the traffic. We hadn't eaten much all day so we stooped at Islands for some grub. Great chicken sandwich today. Back on I-10 heading west around 4:30. Traffic was pretty light even though it was Friday.

    We didn't see one state trooper from AZ or CA the whole way. The border patrol at the CA agriculture check station were laughing when I asked how many other F-cars had already been through.

    He said over 50 and asked what in the world was the reason. Fun explanation and then we were off again.

    Had a great drive with my wife. Long road trips are great times for us to plan and cover all the latest. She had her feet up on the dash for a while. Not sure if you all have experienced that seating position for your passengers or not. I like it just fine.

    Car ran like a heavy sewing machine. Solid and steady. Great stuff. Running about 20mpg.

    Good music. Couple of stops for gas and photos. Now in Orange County. Should be lots of fun on Sat. Probably heading up PCH and to Malibu.

    At a rest stop in CA. Parked in the middle of 50 empty spots. New Jeep Grand Cherokee comes up into the spot right next to my car blocking further photos...

    The magnetic pull on non- courteous behavior is strong with the 355...

    Gassing up in CA. A dad with a 10 year old stopped to ask about the 355 on the way in for drinks. They couldn't believe it was 20 years old.

    You can notice in the photos so far that I removed the tint a couple of months ago. I like my car better this way avoiding the bumblebee look. I think the lack of tint makes the car look more refined and elegant. Just my 2¢.

    Ernie. Dead on 20mpg. Cruising at 85 most of the way today. Normally I'm at 12-14mpg in town having fun toward the mountains toward Payson and flagstaff.

    So we head out in the morning, and head up to the parking garage top floor to grab the car and head out. The whole floor is empty...

    And this guy just had to park right behind me...

    The shopping center was packed. Lots of flashy cars. Maserati gran turismo convertibles everywhere.

    Older gen 3 quatrroporte. Porsche 911 turbos dime a dozen, a fisker, bentley's, tesla's, and db9 convertibles.
