    Hey Guys,

I'm thinking of adding a 4 post lift to stack cars. I'm looking for storage only since I currently have a 2 post.

I'm looking for a very affordable lift, something under $2K. I've seen the Back Yard Buddy and heard it's $6K so that's out.

Anyone have good results with a lower cost 4 post? I'd prefer to not need compressed air to release the locks.

    Thanks.

I personally am happy with my foreign 4-post lift. The place where I bought it from is out of business but everybody has those import lifts now. They are all $1600 to $1800.

I have had an Eagle 700 for about 12 years and I love it. Never a problem at all. It was about $2,700 with aluminum ramps back in the day. I recommend it without reservation. Good luck Dave!

Same situation as you Dave, two post for work and I purchased this 4 post for parking. It is a 110v plug in unit, 8000lb, drip trays, steel ramps, jack tray and casters for moving. Purchased from Greg Smith Equipment Co. for just under 2k. I think it was around $500 more delivered and installed. I've had it for about 4 years and it works great.

I think it was the Atlas. It was their base model standard height, not the tall unit.

Just looked on their web site. It is the Atlas. I paid $1899 4 years ago so still a good deal IMO.

Dave they are all pretty damn good
What you look for is positive locking and accessible left mechanism in case it does poop out so you can repair it. This is just about any lift these days.

BTW thay make great tables for partys if you put some plywood on them ;)

99% of the 4 post lifts out there are the same design.. 110v that works a regular motor that can be rebuilt for around $75 and works a hydraulic pump that extends and retects a large piston on one side of the lift. Any 345/355 can be fully extended to the top if you have a 10ft clearance.

What I really like about the 4 post is you don't have to bolt it down and it came with a set of casters you can lower it on and it picks itself up and I can roll it where ever I want. God knows I needed the room that stacking cars gets me.

I see many come with the casters but I have no need for them. And, I would probably bolt mine down just for piece of mind. (One anchor per leg)

That's like saying..."man, my garage is way to big and I would never fill it up!!"

haha casters are the best part about having a 4 post lift. You can take your lift outside, by yourself, and pressure washer the undercarriage, or just to work on your car during a nice day.. or many other things are possible.

Here is a few pictures of the lift used for storage, working inside the shop, different location, and completely outside.

Yeah I have a bend pak 4 post, it really is awesome.
I don't mind the air locks just hook a line to it when I'm dropping the lift. Then disconect from it.

Dave I have a couple diff ones. My first lift was a double wide ( 2 cars) fit nicely In front of my standard 2 car door and left the single third door with no overhead obstructions. My second was like the first lift show and was way cheaper about 2 grand. The nice features I saw while looking and I looked fir a while was even some of the cheaper ones have a double lock incase of hoist failure. As well as a levelling system so if your floor is not perfect when you set it up you can make it perfect without shims. You will be able to tell because the inside locks slide up or down from the top with about a 25 mm bolt dia.

Agree. They make the perfect party table and can seat 16 at each table (lift).

PS: Clean the cables with lacquer thinner prior to using as tables...

What he said plus if you investigate some of the under $2,000 lifts welds you would never stand under them. Bend Pak is a little more expensive but the build is so much better. You get what you pay for.
