Just took a long lunch break to meet the delivery driver with my 355. I purchased the car from Rob (sn marinelo here) and it's obvious he took great care of it. He also gave me a neat red key and Ferrari key chain along with the original black key with chrome Cavallino. Thanks Rob! Was a bit of extra effort importing it from Canada but not too bad. Just needed a dot/epa letter from FNA and a shipping company willing to work with a customs broker. I have not seen a ton of these cars but this is by far the nicest I've come across. 11,500 miles (speedo is in KM so 18,500km) and the last major was July 2013 and 18,062km. The dash and seats are gorgeous. Paint is very nice but will need some correction. I'm amazed by how clean the engine compartment is. Zero oxidation on any of the aluminum parts. Looks new! All the usual interior parts and rear window trim is sticky (which I knew about) so I will tackle that and the paint correction over the winter. (and remove front plate bracket) I'm very happy, it is a lovely car Here are some pics. It almost looks fake or 2/3 scale next to the 59. Looks great! Super clean! Good to see it stayed in the F-Chat Family as well! Congrats on the purchase and many happy miles!
Thanks guys! Sooo glad I have one of these again. I was surprised that I forgot the door windows don't go down all the way and that the pedals were shifted to the center. Chas, the bypass valve would normally go through there. It has been removed but I will likely re-install it. It also has a challenge exhaust. (the quieter one).
Stunning engine compartment! Quick observation though -- you might want to update the power steering reservoir and cap. The one you have is the (obviously) early style which tends to "self-loosen", with less-than-desirable results.
Beautiful car! Congrats! Has the fuel system had the recall done? On later cars its readily visible , not sure on a '95.
James Verrrry nice engine bay. Missing a plate riveted on the right hand removable engine panel...i think it lists lubricants to be used...you can see the 2 holes there for the rivets. Also....watch for power steering fluid leaking from the poor sealing lid on that original tank. The updated one has a much better lid...cheap/easy fix. Check the manufacturing date on the tyres...if they are more than 5 years old do change them even if they look pristine.....they lose their stickiness after 4-5 years and it's noticeable. Enjoy. Magnificant machine. A masterpiece from Maranello.
Great find! I am JEALOUS. I've been looking for this exact combo for YEARS and "settled" for black. Car looks immaculate. Looks like a great car landed in the right hands. I love the red key as well. Anyone know who builds these keys?
Very nice. Don't worry abut the fuel line recall. Your car is an early dual pump car which didn't require it. Also, side panel rivet holes are correct. No missing label or anything.
Congratulations, James! That's a beautiful GTB. Drive it in good health. Barry Those are correct placards and plates for a US MY 1995 car... . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
John is there any visible identification of the recall that was issued on early 95s was done as there is on the later cars?
Lucky man.. That is the exact car I'm looking for. Mind if I ask what you paid for it?? Thanks Congrats again she is stunning.
My '95 had the fuel line recall. You can tell by the steel braided lines and blue connectors. How can you tell if it is really needed or not? I thought all F355 needed the update.
By early I guess you mean dual fuel pumps. I don't know. It has to do with aluminum fitting on fuel lines/rails and addressed on recall 157 and 161. I imagine one could tell if then know what to look for.
