need to make a decision on which header to use. I'm leaning in the directions of Ricambi but not sure of the quality of the steel inside the clam shell.....also does anyone have the part number for the snapon wrench that makes this easier?

Header choice is a personal choice.....I've see your posts on other header discussions and you will just have to decide if OEM style is the way to go ...ie tubi or something like fabspeed or the rebuilds at ricambi.....all are good. Maybe re read some of the older posts on the subject.
As for tools I just used standard hand tools although I got the smallest metric socket set (including both standard and deep sockets)....the re&re was pretty straight forward.

I went with Fabspeed. PM me if you want to know a place that will sell them for much less than the price on Fabspeed's website. The discount Fabspeed offered me was a joke.

Nouvalari headers also seem to be good option, get in touch with Glen.
    retaining 4-2-1 design

however no clam shields. but they offer similar protection plates for AC and alternator.

please describe the failure: sounds, noises, change in driveability etc.

I'm led to believe that Ricambi's rebuilt headers are complete T304 re-tube jobs using the original flanges and heat shields. I believe Ricambi posted a picture of open unit showing the brand new primary tubes before closing up the heat shield.

Fabspeed of course are completely new parts and materials, but of a different design and are not heat shielded (you can ceramic coat them at extra cost, which is probably a good idea without the shield). Also, the company is US-based so that helps for US customers who may worry about any post-purchase issues.

What makes the Tubi's worth almost double most other offerings?

I've been talking to gothspeed. He is working on custom headers with heat shields.

I went with Fabspeed's, had them ceramic coated locally. Still look great after 5 years...

I think thats a mystery to all of us..

I dont see how on earth there is $6000 worth of material to build the set of Tubi headers.
they are very nice and shielded..

but its purely a Tubi brand name markup..!

Whatever you do, get them coated. I had uncoated, Fabspeed headers for 4 years and the heat from the bay was pretty extreme.

I coated the old headers and the temp difference is far more noticeable than I ever expected. Only 150 miles or so since my major was completed so the jury is still out, but I am surprised.

I really am against not using headers that are inside the clam shell if your going to drive your car. I have read though that sometimes Ricambi headers sometimes come with pinholes in the welds that have to be fixed...not sure if thats true

I think that may have been with their previous rebuilder QvLondon.. and were only patching up the failed area..

now Ricamibi uses JP Exhaust.. which I beleive they have not had any issues with.

i just checked Tubi website.. $6000 think again.. their list price is $7,033 lol..???

and then all the Porsche headers listed underneath are all in the $2500 range.. what a joke.

and they have the nerve to say " are you looking for a lower cost alternative then oem" lol..

    they are using T304 SS.

and their heat shields arent clam shells like oem.. its a heat wrap material form fitted..

Tubi still prices their stuff on the F355 like it is 2002 and they have no competition. Not sure how that is working for them from a business standpoint but it isn't 2002 and there are many other options at much better price points.
