My new Fabspeed 348 headers arrived this week nice and shiny with their new ceramic coating. Today myself, Bruce and Vince had a mini stooge gathering/install party with home made burgers on the grill courtesy of Vince. The headers are absolutely beautiful and extremely well made, we were impressed. I would like to say thanks to Joe Neill at Fabspeed for handling the whole transaction/process with great service and the free t-shirts! And a even bigger thank you to Bruce and Vince for the help today. I would recommend these headers to anyone that may be considering a new set for their own car. Joe I know that you said to plan for 8 hours to do the job, but the three stooges got it done in 2 1/2 Enjoy the pics. I'd like to pay Fabspeed a compliment that anybody who has ever installed a set of headers will understand.....They Fit Perfectly!
I got to say congrats to Fabspeed. Those headers are absolutely gorgeous. The fit is perfect. We had absolutely zero drama with the installation. Removal was actually more difficult (less simpler?) than installing the new set. You might toss in a set of header gaskets though. The reused ones sealed fine but I would have felt better with new. Appreciated the new donuts and hardware. The Jetcoating is in silver ceramic and it was the best choice. They leave a stock element while showing them off. The next step is to have Jeff dyno them at Churches so we can see the performance enhancement. Really a good product Joe. Stooge stamp of approval here.
Looking nice Were the heat shields provided by Fabspeed? How are they attached? Any pics from above........looking down at the headers in the engine bay?
I want to know too. Are 348 headers also a known problem? Regardless, the open headers are beautiful, and good decision on coating them on both sides. Joe was very helpful with my F355 order (headers and cats...failure on both ugh!!!).
Here are a couple of pics from the top down through the engine bay. To answer some of the questions, no 348 headers are not prone to the heat problems like a 355. I changed them: 1. because I wanted to. 2. hopefully to get a bit of a performance gain 3. they look way better than stock and it's my car so I do what I like 4. mine were pretty tired after 20 years. Keep the old headers! Cali smog people are on the look out for non-oem parts. Your car in it's current state is a visual fail even if it passes the sniff test.
No big deal 2hrs first time in and out. next time will be even faster. Shoot it's quicker than a fluids change at a stoogefest. When you get shiny new toys the first thought is to throw out the old boat anchors. Keep me posted when it is dynoday.
All that matters Great addition to the engine bay! Better than us 355 folk who are forced into $5000 header/cat problems.
Thank you for the kind words Jeff! The pleasure was mine, I am very happy to hear that you are pleased with everything. 2.5 hours installation is phenomenal! I actually ran out to the shop to tell my service manager about this, he was just as impressed as I was! - any chance you want a job here at Fabspeed?
