Yes...but...this means to access the fuses you have to unscrew the footrest
    Also means drilling the panel

    Anyone use double sided tape?

    In for answer.

I haven't installed mine yet for the same reason.

    Was debating 3M doublesided adhesive.

I found another way that works, at least for me. I have 2 floor mats in my 348 in the passenger foot well. In the underneath mat, I put in a tiny hole right on top and have looped and attached the foot rest at the top with a very thin cable tie.

My top mat sits nicely with almost no movement from the foot rest since it's already tight in there. The top of the mat goes over maybe an inch of the bottom part of the foot rest. Looks fine.

I like it. It still looks great, you get the look and function and it makes any access to a fuse panel very easy. If you take out the cable tie no one would ever see the super tiny hole.

Just a suggestion. And, it would work great in the meantime if you feel you still need to look at other options.

I used the titanium velcro from Home Depot. Not really made from titanium but its a very heavy duty velcro that is designed for heavy duty applications. Its worked for me for two years and allows for the foot rest to be removed and the rubber pad put back on for concorse. Better than double sided tape for the removal and reapplication prospect.

I have nothing securing mine and it doesn't move. I've pulled it out and "placed " in the OEM rubber for concours events with no issues either.

I drilled right through the fuse cover and put the screws in. Simple, secure and effective

    I have drilled 4 holes.
Will have welded 4 nuts behind and attach with the 4 supplied bolts
    Better this way than velcro.

But Velcro made from titanium would be pretty cool, wouldn't it? :D

Just got done installing industrial strength Velcro brand book & loop fastener to secure my factory rubber mat. That stuff is pretty stout. I think I'd trust it to hold the aluminum plate in place if I had one, only not for track use. Rivnuts would be a better choice in that case, or just take it out since it adds weight.

velcro + footrest = flying projectile IMO

Pictures please, I have been thinking about installing one of these.
So pictures of different installs would be nice, and how they affect the fuse box.
    Thanks

I put 2 screws in the bottom so it still folds out. Had to bore the holes a bit. This is such a great upgrade.

This heavy duty velcro is some stout stuff. I have to pull fairly hard on it when I want to remove the plate and you have to pull from one corner first to get it started. I don't see it moving.

Yeah I don't think some of these guys are comprehending the power of the Velcro we're talking about. You have to work if you want to get mine pulled up. You could roll your car end over end 10 times and it's not going anywhere your carpet doesn't. Not a Chance.

True dat. If you have a crash that breaks the bond of properly applied industrial Velcro, you've got lots bigger problems than a loose footrest. Just make certain to properly degrease the surfaces prior to installing the Velcro and let the adhesive set up for at least 24 hours before putting stress on it.
