Good Morning FChat Members, I hope you all are having a great day. I'm working on Ferrari parts, so what could be better than that !!! I wanted to start a thread for 355 Sticky Parts Refinishing. We have been doing a lot of 355 parts, and as always they are looking phenomenal. Here's a couple videos of the laser marking process for anyone interested in seeing some behind the scenes work. First, a set of 355 F1 paddles. The parts are completely stripped to bare aluminum before our mar-resistant hard touch coating is applied. After, I re-apply the UP/DOWN in the same location, size and font as OEM. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvT7nCuri_0[/ame] This one is a 355 center vent getting the arrows and dial pips. I dropped over the border to see Dave on Monday past. I am a perfectionist but I am truly amazed at the workmanship at his facility. The paint finish on the many parts they are working on can only be described as "out of this world" and I say this because the finish is simply flawless and by flawless I mean better than what comes out of Maranello. I have already done my interior years ago and I know mine looks great but after seeing Dave's finish, I know I will have to have him redo them one day. Not only is the finish so perfect but Dave demonstrated the mar-resistant surface of his top secret paint formula. So its not just about looking factory but durability has to be taken into account. Anyone thinking of redoing their sticky interior has to get it done by Sticky RX. AMAZING! Great videos
Thanks buddy - good to see you and your wife as always Much appreciated, Mike but Randy deserves the credit for the laser work as he handles all of that. I do the painting and other guys in my shop do all the prep work
forgive me if Ive been asleep but are you the same as sticky no more, new name? competitor? whats the difference between you 2?
I'll invite you to visit our website along with the many threads we have on Fchat including this one: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/technical-q-sponsored-algar-ferrari/520454-understanding-ferraris-sticky-interiors-technical-guide.html Thank you.
I too had my window switches, ash tray, climate control panel and vents refinished by Dave at Sticky RX. The workmanship, finish and laser etched graphics are perfect and exceptional. There really is no other choice.
Hello Guys, Here is a video of the hazard switch (button) being laser etched after full refinish. These are taken down to bare plastic and fully refinished prior to the laser magic of Randy Best Regards, Dave [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unsFb1b-YiI[/ame]
Currently, we refinish your parts. We will be offering a core exchange program down the road as we acquire more spare parts (we have some). We will never send a prefinished part to a customer without their knowledge and permission. Also, core exchange parts will be pristine condition. Thank you for asking this question
Hi Ron, Please send me an email if you would like to discuss your specific needs as many factors influence this. Thank you. dave.lelonek@**********.com
Dave, would the laser etching present any issues if the vents had to be refinished again sometime in the future?
Hey Mike, Our coatings are incredibly durable. I don't see how vents won't last the life of the car. Other items that get more use may wear but I doubt it. We will be posting a video soon about our coatings and the wear and chemical resistance. But, to answer your question, no - the laser work has no bad effect on a refinish should a part ever need it
The "sticky" subject does come up quite often on Fchat. I have yet to experience such problem or maybe it's because I don't ppay attention
Your car must be brand new (or already refinished by previous owner). If the former, then stand by, because in life we have death, taxes, and sticky Ferrari interior
I stand corrected. I now have sticky parts. Spilled a cup of coke all over the center console. Note to self: remember list below for happy life 355 no cup holder e31 no cup holder Katrina birthday 1-18 Victoria birthday 12-3
Hi Folks, I've been often asked how to remove the vents on a 348/355. I created a brief video for a customer recently so I thought I would post this. It's nothing fancy but hopefully it will help folks [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OPzU-Ab1P4[/ame]
This is excellent, Dave, thank you for posting. Any idea how to get the long skinny vents out, the ones where the windshield meet the dash board?
They're held in place by screws under plastic covers which must be carefully pried off first. IIRC the screws are socket head and require a 3mm hex key, but I may be off on the size.
