Finally risen from the 'gothspeed laboratory abyss' ........ OE fit, twin exit, performance balanced manifolds are completed and installed .....

Once the install was completed .... obligatory test runs were executed ....... followed by some actual quotes: "seat of the pants HP increase is there" ..... "the redline comes up quicker, must shift sooner" .... and ... "the car feels lighter" ... :)

Thus far this 'Jeckle n' Hyde' project has shown solid 'before and after' HP gains on the dyno .... these manifolds have been designed* for HP gains across the RPM band ..... a dyno day will be scheduled to see if more HP has indeed been unleashed ..... :)

*manifold design elements are pat. pend.

I know it's a completely different animal but the 599 vs. the GTO exhaust note difference was primarily due to the header design. Standard 599 headers are 3-2-1 I believe vs. the GTO's header 6-1. The difference in the exhaust note is night and day. I believe the F12 sounds the way it does because it carries that header design from the GTO over as well.

I'm looking forward to hearing some sound clips and dyno numbers. :)

Thank you all for the good words ... :) .... a lot of time was invested in this manifold design. Very little was left on the table due to routing and space considerations. Great effort was applied to combine and possibly even enhance the lower/mid range performance of a nice 4-2-1 with the well known upper RPM gains of a 4-1 .....

As many peeps already know, a 4-1 manifold design is known to lose lower/mid RPM torque/HP, when compared to a well designed or even a stock 4-2-1 manifold.

This combined 'best of both worlds' performance goal is the gothspeed design intent .... though we will see what the dyno numbers say in the next few weeks ..... as dyno time is scheduled and coordinated ... :)

Radiant heat into the engine compartment is controlled via individual runner jackets, metallic collector shield and a final post collector jacket. This individual runner jacket design was adopted to help keep runner temperatures equal before they combine into the collector ... :)

Nice heat shielding Goth. When you going to make one for the2.7 to match my Goth exhaust? I've had the Fabspeed and Capristo blankets and blankets are the way to go for heat control. Yours are one better.

Surely amazing. Not very stealthy though in hiding from smog inspectors. I mean, in case one actually knows what to look for. ;)

These look like 4-1 but something tells me there's something else going on here...

    Meh!

A couple of hours to remove it and bolt on the old crap, smog it, then put it back on. Went I had to deal with all the smog crap in Cali that's what I did. Heck you could even get it all done the same day if you had your smog test schedule for the the afternoon. Nothing big deal.

    Wow!

Looking forward to the dyno results and video clips.

I have Fabspeed headers but I can't even discern the alleged loss in sound compared to OEM 4-2-1 configuration.

As you mentioned, the sound changes from various 355 header designs would be very slight. So far the biggest sound change with this new design, was a 'widening' of sound frequency to include some lower tones .... however IMO it was a welcome addition ..... the 'exotic' tone of the 355 was enhanced for those of us who have listened to this new arrangement .... :)

    A 2.7 version would be a natural possibility with this design ...... as would a 360 version ... :)

We need to start a dyno day thread .... are there not other peeps who wouldn't mind testing their cars as well? ... :D

When you put these in production can you adjust the exit angle so that the exhaust ports shoot straight into the header pipes? The angle is 16º by the way, as shown in the attached figure in the red pipe, while the typical way is shown in the green pipe.

    Seriously Mitch?
Have you even bothered to LOOK at the pictures Goth posted. It's pretty obvious what Goth has done with the primaries if you LOOK.

Speaking of headers, when are we gonna get to see the pictures of the custom set you have made?????
