So, although the wheel bolts are only 4 years old they need to be changed out for cosmetic reasons. It seems there are a few options: Titanium - A set using a 17mm Allen socket. About $512 shipped. These are not Ferrari OEM but look nice. Ferrari Titanium Wheel Bolt Stud Lug 20pcs F355 F430 360 458 550 575 California | eBay Titanium - Hill engineering using Torx are about $800 USD plus shipping. Not Ferrari OEM either. Titanium - Hill Engineering Ferrari Parts Chrome - Chrome wheel bolts similar or the same as OEM are about $200 USD plus shipping. Wheels & Tyres for Ferrari 355 - Superformance Also Ricambi has Hill Engineering OEM like bolts for $19 each. My car has way more performance than a 355 so the titanium bolts are not really going to make the 355 perform so much better that Ti is a must. It's just the opportunity cost right now. I am leaning towards the Chrome OEM for $200ish. Thoughts?
Because...? Ti lug "bolts" don't do much for reducing rotating mass and they're expensive (and they're not original). Any other reasons? Galling?
Those are nice! How much? Also, I prefer titanium just because I like the finish better than the chrome lugs.
Okay. I like the chrome too as long as it's not chipped. I always use one layer of a plastic sandwich bag over the "bolt" heads when I remove or install.
OP: The "chrome" ones you have listed in your original post are not Genuine Ferrari --- they are from Hill Engineering, SLWB01 (SLWB01 Wheel Bolt - Ricambi America, Inc.)
I had a set of titanium extended ones for wheel spacers and I got them for $375.00 for all 20. They used all the same dimensions as the factory Ferrari bolts except that they were longer.
Mitch Alsup.... so you are confirming it is faster with these bolts? I agree. I ended up buying Chrome OEM. If I get aftermarket rims or something, I'll think about the Ti for the look (the inset hex pattern)
I can't tell the ones I got with my HE spacers from OE bolts except for the length. Accidentally dropped one on my shop floor and you can't tell it-- no damage and no chrome chipping. I'm really impressed with them, as well as with the spacers.
