?????????????????????Ferrari355???????????? | ???????????? | Ferrari?Lamborghini ???????????? | Ferrari?Lamborghini I'm on the hunt to replace my Capristo 3. I have been curious about the F355 ITO Racing exhaust for some time since it is the preferred choice in Japan. Having watched countless videos on youtube, I cannot say for certain it sounds better than a Cappy. It does seem to have an F1 pitch, but not as much as the Cappy. It actually sounds like a hybrid Tubi/Capristo. I know it is hard to capture true sound on video, so I've decided to look into purchasing an ITO Racing exhaust for my 355 to satisfy my curiosity. They usually come with trumpet style tips, which protrude out from the rear bumper more than I would like. That was a turn-off for me as far as looks go. The Capristo sits perfectly. However, I just recently found out ITO can custom make a tip design more like the Capristo's. I was sold! The clean exposed welds, titanium-ish color, and non-polished look was what drew my attention. It is an exhaust work of art. A little about ITO Racing. They specialize in building agricultural cutting machines. Welding is one of their specialized crafts. They have very few motorsport components and their 355 exhaust is what really put them on the map. I am in talks with a rep about purchasing. If anyone else is interested in the exhaust, let me know and we'll see if we can get some bulk discounted pricing. You can choose between trumpet tips or the capristo-like tips. Kinda neat design so I take it the bypass goes in the small muffler and the main muffler is the normal one? Also uses the existing bypass valve? Thus guy drives like Tim, oftain makes me wonder why you need a bypass when its allways open. Ha ha Just sayin
That sounds great. MS Racing and ITO are the two big brands in Japan I believe. And THOSE WELDS...sweet baby jesus.
That's some of the nicest fab work I've seen. Just beautiful. I think it sounds nice but will probably be a bit quieter than capristo on bypass. (as I believe that section on Capristo is basically straight through/unmuffled).
Robots??? I think not! That would not be the way of the samurai. http://youtu.be/9JsDfteapZw Fast forward to 2:10 .
I love the Capristo 3 sound, but I love the look of the ITO much more. I feel it fits the look of my build. I know you don't see it, but as long as I know it's there . You can also see a glimpse of it when looking inside the engine bay. I had a problem with the weight of the Capristo at 32 lbs. i hope this is lighter. I am waiting for a response on weight. I had a tubi before and felt the tubi sounded better when bypass closed. Capristo wins hands down with bypass open. This purchase is more about curiosity and loving the look of the ITO. We have gotten MS racing units stateside, but no ITOs as far as I know. Would be nice to spice things up with a lil variety. The Cappy sound is hard to beat imho. Can the ITO top it? Stay tuned...
Are you sure it's straight through? Anyone wanna open up a Cappy and reveal its secrets ? If it is straight through, I wonder why it's hard for other manufacturers to produce the same sound. You would think it would be easy to if it is just straight unmuffled on bypass. I mean the Challenge exhausts are straigh/unmuffled and they don't seem to sound a damn thing like Capristo.
Looks really neat! If you're going for lowest weight this is probably it- Ferrari 355 Coupe Spider 95-99 T304 Challenge Race Full Titanium Exhaust System
Looks like I've got 1 interested. I'm thinking 3-5 units is a big enough incentive for a fat discount. Anyone else?
I just picked up one of the non titanium versions for really short money and will be installing on my F1 soon
