    I've done about 220km/hr...so a little under 140mph.

The 355 for me is more fun lower speeds and in tight corners. Top speed runs aren't very exciting (for me).

You know what they say "straight roads are for fast cars and curved roads are for fast drivers" or words to that effect.

I would not recommend doing video at high speed unless the camera is held by a passenger.

A sales guy did this himself in Colorado in a maser and died as a result...

I'd take it to the track and be safe.

Reached top speed a few times. Speedo read about 315km/h so I guess that was the claimed 295 Km/h.

Yes all runs should be on a closed course in Mexico filmed with a fixed camera or with a passenger.

So the speedo reads about 20 km/h high? So this was around 183 mph? How did the car feel at that speed?

No video. No way. No how.

Top speed was 155. Top up. Windows closed. I was surprised at the amount of wind noise. Not only around the windows, but across the top of the windshield where the top supposedly was latched down. Bit of a breeze too. <gulp>

It was the one and only time I kinda wished I had a berlinetta. But, I stopped, put the top down and never thought about that idea again.

there are several 355 top speed runs on YouTube.

that said my highest speed thus far was ~130mph.
straight, solid, no issue. could have kept going but let go, haven't been in that vicinity since.

    ^^ wow where was that?

Doesn't look too horrible all things considered. Both passengers likely walked away.

Virginia. The kid from JR Garage did a video about it earlier this week.

Look at the drivers seat, it looks like it folded or sustained some sort of damage, hard to tell for sure.

    not sure somewhere in US.

the JRgarage guys posted it on their youtube yesterday.

they said driver and passenger walked away minor injuries.
it was after a car meet

just like that car is finished.

Looking forward to Spring to see what mine will do. I only had it a week or so before I had to put it up for the Winter.

In my experience all speedos read more than what the real speed is. The car felt more planted than I expected. Up to 260 the car was stable to the point that you could change lanes and make the car go where you want to go. Above that speed you could drive straight but it was difficult to keep it in the lane. The problem was in my gts the wind noise coming inside the cabin was almost louder than the engine.

Had my hardtop at 160mph in Germany, bit of wind noise as you'd expect, but completely stable and controllable. No video though, just a quick snap of the speedo (by my passenger)

I have hit 165 MPH and maybe a wee bit more on back roads.

I have entered Turn 1 at TWS at 162 MPH. This is much (MUCH) more thrilling than the above. I actually ran out of 5th gear and had to cog up to 6th for a few seconds.

The cost in my state keeps me under 100 mph......most of the time.
Over 100 mph is automatic reckless driving charge, felony arrest and car impound.
The cost to fight this charge is about the same as a major engine out service.
20 years ago I hit 155 mph in my 328, and 150 mph numerous times.
Over 140 mph the 328 felt awesome, hunkered down and glued to the road :)

Sold copies of the video, police bought one and used it as evidence in court ;)

Great video other than I would not be going that fast with cars and trucks in the lane next to me. Other than a race track the only way I would go that fast is on a deserted 4 lane highway with no traffic on either side.

Just can't trust other cars not pulling into your lane.
