Any suggestions for the best books to own? Of course, it would be great to find a comprehensive book on the 348, which includes development history and all of the variants as well (e.g. tb, ts, Spider, SS, GTB, GTC, GT Michelotto Competizione, Enzo mule, etc.). Any first-hand reviews of this recent book (2015)? https://www.motorbooks.co.uk/notes.asp?bookid=107312 https://www.amazon.com/Ferrari-308-328-348-Complete/dp/1847978851 It was mentioned in the 308/328 forum but no comments about the 348 (obviously). http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/480011-new-308-328-348-book.html And this one is interesting, but too bad it's in Japanese only. https://www.amazon.com/Ferrari-Challenge-Competizione-History-Racing/dp/4777008932/ Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ferrari 308, 328, and 348 The Complete Story by Robert Foskett, which you have pictured above, is a great one and gives an excellent view into the Dino roots, development, and road/race variants of the cars. I also have Ferrari 348 by Enrico Benzing, which is a great book as well that details more of the specific development and production details of the 348 in period. It comes in a standard and small size, in the multi-lang format of the factory documentation (italian, english, etc columns) If you're also interested in Ferrari books that are not 348 specific or of a significant percentage, My wife bought me the Ferrari 70 years by Dennis Adler, which is a beautifully written and photographed history of Ferrari cars. 348 does get a mention as well. I have "Ferrari 308, 328 and 348 - The Complete Story". I think it's worth the price even though I don't recall it breaking much (if any) news you haven't probably read elsewhere. I'm a big fan of the V8 line from the 308 GT4 through the 348 so it hits a sweet spot for me but it's probably still worth buying even if you're only interested in 348s.
I've read some great comments about the book by Enrico Benzing. Too bad he hasn't updated it (published in 1989).
Of course, this oldie has loads of info on the 348 including the SS and GT Competizione. But text on the Challenge cars and the GT Michelotto Competizione is scattered about, instead of having their own sections. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Those were so good, maybe now would be a good time for another one to come into publication. Some have sold their 348's and some have bought, a perspective on a few new owners would be good IMHO.
Paul (Gimme Fuel) made them. I don't know if he is inclined to make a 3 issue or not????? He hasn't made a post since 2014, but he does lurk. The last time it shows he logged on was about 3 weeks ago. Maybe I drop him a pm.
