Probably owned by Honda and given to Senna to do an evaluation with their NSX at the time.

When Honda originally designed the NSX, they used a Ferrari 328 as their bench mark, (Both testing it, and stripping it down according to some rumours), because that was the current Ferrari available at the time, but they already new that there was a newer Ferrari about to be unveiled that would be their proper rival.

My monies on it being the case that the first chance Honda got, they acquired a 348 and gave it to Senna to get some feedback on it to see what they were up against.

Just a theory!

 

Sounds plausible to me.

 

I met a guy in Cali. with a blue with blue top 348 Spider that had Nicholas Cage as the original owner. Don't recall the interior color.
