    Hey guys:

I've done some research on f-chat and i did not see any DYNO charts of BEFORE & AFTER result of TUBI & CAPRISTO exhausts on 360.

I have Capristo (Level 3) on my red 360 (http://www.jimmy540i.com/ferrari.htm) and TUBI on my yellow 360 (http://www.jimmy540i.com/ferrari2.htm). Unfortunately I did NOT run any dyno test on both.

If anyone has any info of BEFORE/AFTER DYNO result on any 360. Please post here or e-mail me to: [email protected]

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

    Regards,
    Jimmy

I don't have any hard evidence but I believe the figure I hear is that the Tubi/Capristo bumps your hp up 5-7%. So, I guess this means 400hp goes to 420-428hp.

You won't find it anywhere. What you will find is a few sites that supply Tubi claiming 5-10HP gain with NO reference to the source. And if you ask Tubi directly, they won't reply to you. Same with Capristo. My take: falcious hype.

Another source of possibly spurious hype is associated with claims of 20-30HP and/or 30-40 ft/lbs of torque gained by installing sports cats (with OEM exhaust in place, and with BMC filters). Yet, there is only ONE before and after dyno on a 360CS for Hyperflow cats that provides data, and claims by other manufacturers who make sports cats like Fabspeed and Larini provide NO evidence but "appear" to be resting their case on the the Hyperflow dyno. And my problem with the Hyperflow dyno (as I own a CS), is the RWHP with the hyperflow cat and an assumed drivetrain loss of 15%, falls short of what a stock 360CS should put out anyway. My take: too much fog to make any real empirical assessment.

And if you really want to follow a pathetic tail, search all the posts begging Eurotek to do pre and post dyno's to confirm the purported HP/TQ gains from their ECU remapping (ie., chip upgrade as in BMW world). Several 360 owners even volunteered their cars but nothing came of it.

Unlike BMW owners world, and especially Dinan owners world (that you know well), Ferrari owners world is awful when it comes to before and after dynos as a way of guaging perfmance mods on Ferrari models. What you do see is dynos on stock cars, trying to ascertain if Ferrari HP/TQ claims are reliable, which then deteriorates into a gaseous dialogue about whether drivetrain loss is 10%, 15%, 20% etc. Many folks who have done dynos apply the drivetrain loss ratio "they want", so their dynoed rear wheel horsepower (RWH) becomes equivalent to HP at the crank or flywheel.

Sorry, but my take from dyno information by ferrari owners -- after 2 years of conscientious searching -- is that it's almost worthless. Having said this in rather strong terms, I'd be all too willing to be proven wrong! Good luck

I actaully like the sound of the Capristo, it's louder than Tubi (especially during idle). Capristo actually makes the car pulls harder at 7000+ RPM compare to Tubi and has a slight bigger exhaust tips than Tubi.

However, Capristo has a lag @ lower RPM which Tubi lacks.

I admit Capristo does sounds A LOT better (well... if not better, Louder) then Tubi when you start your engine in any crowd with all eyes at you. Tubi is not as loud when starting the car and it sounds like "didn't-do-it-right" in 1/30 times. I don't know why Tubi is doing that.

But Tubi sounds much DEEPER than Capristo at any RPM (especially above 3750), which, for some might say this is what a real Ferrari should sound like.
Oh and Capristo do runs hotter than Tubi.

In conclusion, I like them both. They each have up and down side IMHO.

KingsPower (Brian) did a before/after dyno on his 360 comparing it to a stock exhaust system and the Larini exhaust system (which is comprable to most any other aftermarket exhaust). What he found was a 9-horsepower gain across the powerband. So there are some real gains. I'm sure aftermarket cats would prove even greater results in terms of hp gains.

I'm sure Mufflerman (Kolby) could shed more light on it, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure less restriction = more power. Given that, I doubt the standard Tubi offers much in terms of hp improvement....it's so quiet that I'd figure it's half the performance of a louder system.

So to answer your question: YES, Capristo will give you about 9 hp more (at least the stage-3 or Twin). The Tubi probably offers very marginal increases in hp due to it's quiet/restrictive nature. If you insist on Tubi, get the NGT version!!!

Tubi has a couple different systems for the 360, one is the standard/sport and the other is the race-version: the NGT

The NGT is very small, looks a bit odd BUT SOUNDS OH-SO-VERY-GOOD. I'm sure it'll come right up if you do a search.

The regular standard Tubi is just too darn boring!!!!!!

Have you considered the Mille Miglia ?
    Great sound and reasonably priced.
To chip in on the horsepower gain, we claim an extra 19bhp on the dyno.
However we are very cautious in claiming this in conjunction with any other mods. You can't just add up the sums.
For example, if you were to Powerchip the car you would find that the HP gain is not the sum of the two items and the same applies to most other improvements.
As far as the exhaust choice goes, it's a bit like women, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. :)
But just like women, I'm sure it will continue to be the most enduring thread on FChat. :)

I know TWO owners who bought MM and the systems were so "off" that they had no chance whatsoever of fitting on the cars....the fit was so far off, the systems would sooner fit a VW bug then a Ferrari. You'd sooner fit Rosie O'Donnel in a Lotus Elise then an MM in a Ferrari.

I doubt you'd notice anything under 20 hp. Cig is right. The sound is at least half the reason i bought the car.

Well sound is the reason I give when selling an exhaust on one of our cars. I never ever guarantee any gains unless I have personal experience with a before and after dyno run. I can tell you that by the seat of the pants I don't notice a thing with Cap or Tubi, however removing the cats does give some feedback, maybe 10-15hp. Reducing backpressure does yeild more performance in most situations, I am just not sure the realistic number of 7-10hp warrants the expense of most systems on it's own. Buy it for sound, if you get more performance, that's a great side effect.
Bottom line, it is simply a crime to leave the stock exhaust on a 360, they just sound to good to be bottled up in a stock can.

"These truths we hold to be self-evident" AMEN! :)

That's my story. Once you hear a performance exhaust on a 360 and then try to go stock....it's like "where's the beef??". Ain't no going back!

    Performance.....whatever.
    Sound...EVERYTHING :)

Although I do like your analogy about Rosie O'Donnell :D

There were some jig problems with a recent batch.
    This has subsequently been resolved.
I will guarantee a perfect fit, a great sound and still a reasonable price.
We stand behind the product we sell.

    Brenden,

I didn't realize you were a dealer, I should never have used that Rosie O'Donnel quote. My bad. Let me change that to "You'd sooner get Madonna to stop exploiting herself".....there, much better! :) :)

MM has an EXCELLENT reputation for quality & sound with Porsche and other makes...that is why it came to me as a shock that 2 separate guys couldn't get their MM's to fit properly. Perhaps it was an fluke and you did mention you got the jig squared-away....so that's all good.

I'm honestly not trying to knock your company, just talking the talk as we do over here on F-Chat. I would LOVE to hear some feedback from owners who have your system on their cars...and for that matter some pics would be nice as well. I have no doubt that MM is fully capable of making a top-notch exhaust for Ferrari's.

So how about it....some pics & sound clips would be great! :)

    Thanks for that Steve. :)

However, this is a forum and you can say whatever you like !!
And as we say; "People can like it or lump it" :p
Anyway you were right, everyone stuffs up sometimes.

The sound files on the site we did ourselves. The in-car stuff is average, because once you get past 120mph the wind noise takes over.
They don't really do it justice.
I've listened to a lot of the sound files posted and they all seem to suffer the same problems.
Unless you get professional sound people involved, it's pretty difficult to get a true representation.

The choice you make is very much a personal thing. I also use my Fcars for long distance touring and the MM is very unobtrusive below 3000rpm, whereas I know the low rpm resonance on some of the others would drive me insane on a long trip.
You might even consider that you may not want to put the same unit on a coupe or a spider.

Good luck with your assessment, it's half the fun of owning the car in the first place, but judging by the number of threads this consumes, you may join the club in search of the Holy Grail :D :D

    Brenden,

    WOW....that really sounds nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You mentioned a "waste-gate"....the system depicted on your website doesn't appear to have any valving as such? (maybe it's hidden underneath?). Also, the sound clip didn't sound like there was a transition from such a gate going from closed to open....very curious.

Pressure activated and very distinct when revs rise slowly.
In the sound files past first gear it never gets below 5000rpm.
Below 3000rpm it just sounds nice, not whimpy just nice. Very desirable on long trips or in the city, when the cops are right on your tail and waiting for you to take off, or do something stupid.
Actually the MM has one peculiar attribute.
When you start it up from cold in your garage even at low revs, it has this raw sound that makes the hairs in the back of your neck stand up and just for a moment you could imagine you are working in the Ferrari pits.
It's weird, because when you put the car back in the garage when it's hot it sounds normal.
Or maybe it's just one of my boyhood fantasies manifesting itself. :D
If you are in the market for an exhaust for your 360, go and find someone with a MM and listen.
Trust me, i'm not that biased, just because I sell the damn things. :D

    More details please...:)

So you have no vacuum lines opening/closing??? It sounds like some kind of spring-loaded flap that acts like a valve and operates (opens) when pressure gets high enough?? Please...more details! Inquiring OCD exhaust enthusiast want to know! :) :) :)

When a 360 is first started-up the idle speed is much higher then normal...about 1,100-1,200 rpm. Along with that, the air-pump starts pumping air into the Cats to get them to warm-up quicker: this is why the car is very loud at start-up. I too experience a much quieter car when upon I return from a drive.
