Since I am a Fanboy of these cars I wanted to try and keep a thread going for buyers and geeks like me. Q. Why is a gated manual 360 so awesome? A. It provides a great place to hang your hat. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've been scraping the asking price data off the cars.com website since Feb - I just need to get round to doing something with it. Let me know if there's anything you want from me Kevin.
Aldous aren't you focusing on Europe? It seems to me that the markets are vastly different. I do have a couple of cars from Cars.com in here but am due for another check. If you already have them for the US I would like to get the data and can post it up. i will PM you my email address. Cheers, Kevin
Chart for chart people. Suggests a rough baseline market (asking prices) of 82,000 USD for a car with 21K miles. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am UK focused - I thought you guys on this forum would be interested in US data so wrote the program to lift the prices. I've been too busy do anything with the data but am happy to share it. I have PM'd you back - I can't get to the file until Monday. I have data on 360 and 430 cars advertised on the cars.com website. It would be great if someone was willing to take my data and convert it into some charts and an index as per my UK analysis.
While I don't have a 360 (I have a 430 6MT Spider), I have to say that driving a Ferrari 6MT is the most fun I have ever had driving a car. The 6MT is a MUST HAVE when it comes to these 360/430 cars. So sad that this gorgeous gearbox is a thing of the past...
Amen!!! Only thing better than a 360 MT would be a 430MT. Having said that I Love my 360MT. So much fun...
Call me old fashion, but I Love rowing the stick through the shift gates!!!!!!! If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
to give you an idea of the popularity of the manual...I'm starting to see a trend by a lot of dealers listing their F1 cars as "6-speed manual". I figure it's their way of at least getting you to view their car...actually it kinda pisses me off that they waste my time like that.
They do that.. And the first thing I think is "dumb idiot doesn't even know what an F1 transmission is."
A fchat member last year or so was selling his 05 3 pedal 360 on here. Red & Black color combo....so seems all the way till 430's came out.
from what I have read I must agree with you though "touch wood" my F1 has caused me no issues so far...
As a long term DIY maintained ownership proposition, a manual 360 tin top has got to be the pick of the bunch. Modern enough to be reliable yet simple enough for most jobs to be done at home. No complex roof or F1 systems to worry about either.
I was thinknig about this.. when the little F1 light is flashing and they're posting the usual "help me" thread.. I'm just going to write "Just take the AUTO off and manually shift it. Its an automanual right?"
I collected more data so I updated the chart. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have been populating my spreadsheet and it's time for an update. Looks like some cars have popped up recently. It will be interesting to watch what pops up as summer closes. These are the coupes so might not dip like one could reasonably expect from the spider market. I am not showing it here but it would be great for someone to go and get that white gated manual coupe in Canada (see separate thread).
