Fitting new stereo in '06 430 with power hifi

    Hi, I want to upgrade the CD player headunit in my 430 as I want it iphone compatible.

    The car is a 2006 f430 with the hifi upgrade which sees a couple of sub woofers in between the seats.

    Can I just buy a new stereo and swap them straight over?

    If you are meaning can you just swap out the head unit, absolutely.

    Yes, no problem.
    I did it and put in a very nice Alpine 1-DIN radio.
    You will probably notice that the standaard speakers and hifi upgrade will sound much better with the new radio.

    That's great news, thanks.

    I wasn't sure if having the sub meant some additional wiring was required or made it any more complex.

    So I shall buy a nice new single din headunit, shall try and find some stereo keys for the current stereo, do I need to buy any adapter/wiring loom to hook up the ferrari harness or is it all standard ISO in there?

    I believe you will need an adapter but it is plug and play. I have a Pioneer AVH 6300BT unit with flip up screen that will also accept a back up camera if interested and it works great with iPhone.

    No additional adapter or wiring needed. Are iso connectors, plug and play.
    The hifi upgrade gets the signal from the speaker output of the radio.

    Thanks for the help with this guys.

    I had a set of becker keys + a new stereo delivered, 30 mins later I've now got bluetooth streaming from my iPhone and much better sound quality with the new stereo in place! Also fitted a little microphone that came with the stereo hidden underneath the steering wheel and it picks up my voice fine for the occasional call that will come in when I'm driving the F430.

    Straight swap, very easy job and all speakers (including rear hifi upgrade box) working exactly as you all said they would. Sound quality is definitely hugely improved.

    I went for a Pioneer DEH-80PRS

    We should record our engines now, burn CDs, then sell them to the folks dumb enough to purchase turbo Ferraris... :D

    Def good to know. I was contemplating switching out the factory bekker unit right now it's giving me a stupid number countdown until can find the code for it. It has the hi fi with the subwoofer between the seats too.

    Uh...... where did the turbo Ferrari come from ? I don't really get it.
