I am a bit conflicted on this one. I was bitten by the bug ca. 3 years ago and bought a very desirable 360. Now that my coiffeurs are filling up again, I cannot decide if I should sell the 360 and get a 430 or a 458 - or keep the 360 and buy a second Ferrari. USD 100K will buy a 575M or a 550 Maranello (here in Switzerland).

Then there is the Maserati 3200 selling for 20K to 30K, a beautiful car that is clearly undervalued.... any advise from people who have had this first world problem is much appreciated.

Keep the 360 if its in good nick and you like it. If not sell it. I would go 458 rather than F430 if you can afford it.

I had the same dilemma until I drove the 550 home and saw the look on my wife's face...it was not going to be a pleasant owning experience. I was even going to sell my GT3 for it and keep the CS. I'm no wimp when it comes to buying things (cars) even when the wife disapproves but this time it wasn't worth the hassle.

Back to your question, I would probably get the 550. I love the sound of the V12. You could always sell both later and get the 458 if you want and may even get some appreciation from the 550 while I think the 430 and 458 will probably continue to depreciate. I'd skip the 430.

+1 And if you're going to have two, I wouldn't have both the 360 and 430.

These are interesting comments. Why skip the F430 completely???

If I had to sell my 360.. I'd skip the 430 and buy a 458. Such a better transmission and chassis tune.

F1 is a mediocre transmission. e-Diff compensates for a chassis that is still nervous at the limit. Turn off all the nannies and take it our for a drive. With the same chassis as the 360, but with 100+ more HP.. it still has the 360's handling flaws. 458 corrected all that. Plus even though its the younger sister... she's not as pretty. ;)

I'd stick with the 360 (if it's gated) and buy a Maserati 4200 (Why 3200?).

The spare change buy a Porsche 911 turbo (generation 997 or up).

Or just sell the 360 if it's F1 (no offense to some folks here) and buy a 458 instead.

458 if keeping the 360. Much better interior and drivetrain, less and easier maintenance, a lot of little tech and design issues fixed, aforementioned handling issues fixed and imo, a hell of a lot better looking than the F430.

But at the same time the V12 Ferraris are also very special, however the 550 and 575 do feel a little too dated on the inside for my taste. But wow, do I love the look of the 550 Barchetta.

As for keeping the 360 and getting an F430? Way too close for that to make sense. You'd most likely find yourself always driving the F430.

To clarify, I would sell the 360 and get a 430 or 458 instead. The other option is to keep the 360 and add one more stallion to the stable (or a Maserati). Donkeys (Porsche) are out of the question.

I own a 430 and I think if you already have a 360 its probably not worth getting a 430. They are very similar cars, and the 430 is almost like a facelift version of the 360.

Life is short, if you're going to add another one try something more different!

Cool (apart from that gold stripe :) )

Oddly, 4200 is not sold in Switzerland. I see a few in Germany, but in Switzerland it is only the 3200 - but damn it is pretty car - and it sound quite nice too :)

430 has more horsepower. It shifts faster. It has a ´start´button on the steering wheel. Time belt is not made out of rubber. It looks slightly better (to most people) - so it is a bit more than a "facelift". It is an allround better car (both cars are great, but 430 is just slightly better in every way).

I would go for a complimentary 550/575 to the 360. Easy for me to say though because that's exactly what I did even if I started of with the 550 and bought a 360 Spider a few years later. Very different cars and I like them both a lot. If I had to sell one it would be the 360... ;/

So your the one that got me hooked in getting a Maserati with my 360....

Two or so years ago I literally been googling Ferrari garages and when I saw the 360 and Maserati garage (your pic) I was like I gotta buy that partner for my 360.

I have them now but seeing your new garage, you made me rethink to have some more in the future. I'm a lot of steps behind you at the moment with your current garage. lol

Your garage is too cluttered, maybe you want to store some in mine. ;)

To the OP, there you go! You have two Fchatters who have and had a 360 and 4200 together in one garage.

Thats funny because I don't even remember taking that picture - too long ago
What you should get is a 2009 Mas GTS with the 599 F1 in it - absolutely the best buy on the market today - feels and handles like a Ferrari - light years away from the one you have now.
I lent a good friend of mine my wifes GTS to go to a ferrari event. He called my when he got there and wanted to buy it - it bought his girl friend a 2015 Mas GT spider and he said it felt like driving a boat after the 2009 Maserati

That gold strip pulled right off - looked better close up but I tracked that car a lot and my buddies could tell that that was me - its more fun when you know who is driving what - especially at high speeds- Sold that for my scud which I will never sell
