Curious to see how many of you have went from a F430 to Gallardo or Visca versa. Currently torn between the two vehicles and would enjoy hearing previous owners experiences with both of them. If I went with the Gallardo I would convert it to a RWD to liven it up. Mainly talking about pre lp cars.

Have you driven both? They drive very different and the seating position/visibility is totally different.

    F430 is a driver's car

Gallardo is something you buy if you want to add a twin turbo or leverage the AWD platform

one of my good friends had a gen 1 gallardo, i didnt really like it and love my 430 much better...well thats why I am on this site and not lambochat haha/

Things I liked better in F430:
    - handling, felt more agile. Prefer a RWD platform
    - visibility...cant see anything in the lambo! F430 is actually easy to drive around town and see out of
    - F1 is much better than E Gear.

lambo does have a more usable interior and imo sounds slightly better.

I came from F1 360 to 05 gated gallardo..sold both and was hunting again..f430 F1 and 360 gated and 06-08 gated gallardo were on the list..I ended up getting extremely clean 06 12k miles gated gallardo..and let me tell you I am so glad I got the gated 06 gallardo.

    Reasons
Gated F430 were way over priced around 200k
Gated 360 felt outdated and slow..and also when I owned the F1 360 I had many little gremlins that bothered me especially slow down issue, limp mode..etc..

My car has 520hp + euro charged tune + shorter gears + tubi + test pipes = hands down the best f1 scream you will hear!! I like the awd when I do spirited runs because the car just hugs the floor. My 05 was RWD that I loved, but for now AWD is staying on.

Best thing about it..prices are rising and it's awesome to own it for few years and not worry about losing $

I agree, for gated I'd go Gallardo too as I think the 430 gated are super overpriced.

    Beautiful car!

I bought a 2004 Gated Gallardo, And then a month later added my 2003 Gated 360 Spider. I love both. Very different cars. The 360 feels very underpowered in comparison with only power being up high in RPM, and Gallardo feels like you're really going to do something fast, power every bit of the way and gobs of it.

    Just different cars.

You sit IN the gallardo, you sit ON the 360. Thats the best way I can describe driving experience.

Now the HUGE difference is getting into the C6 GS corvette from the two, You wonder how petals could be so far apart and clutch you'll kill immediately as it engages almost right off the floor in comparison. A quick way to get really screwed up in what you think is normal.

Thanks for all the responses guys it's much appreciated and interesting to hear the different opinions. FYI I tried doing some searches but the search engine at least in the app leaves much to be desired. Coming from a GT4 and really need to figure out exactly what I am looking for. I have a feeling I will be elated and have regrets no matter which way I go. I have driven both on a couple occasions though I have never driven a rwd Gallardo. I prefer the seating position, interior and driving dynamics of the Ferrari to the awd Gallardo. However I have heard that converting the G to RWD does wonders. While I find both cars gorgeous the lambo just pulls a little more on my strings especially with the 570 bumper and SL wing.

Sometimes its not just the specs (hp, speed, g's etc.) but what you grew up wishing for.
As a gear head my dream was to always own a Ferrari before I kicked the bucket, and I did. It was not complicated dream of a Ford GT40 or Lambo. Just Ferrari.

I currently have both a gated 360 and gated gallardo, whats been said is spot on. The drive of a gated Ferrari is like none other in my experience, both are great cars, i slightly prefer looking at the gallardo and driving the 360.

Is the egear in a superleggera just as bad? I've been thinking about owning a superleggera for a while, just unsure of the gearbox.

If by "just as bad" you mean jerky low speed shifts and short clutch life then yes. Lp's are a bit better but in my eyes still not acceptable. The new double clutch units in the huracan/458/gt3 are the only way to paddle.

No chance I would take a Gallardo over a 430, not even a close consideration. I would however got to a Huracan but then your in 458 territory. I've had a lot of cars, driven even more the 430 is a **** ton of car for the money. If you upgrade like I did it is on par with most modern super cars within reason.
