Hi: I heard a funny engine noise this morning when I drove my F430 to the gym. It sounded like a belt was squeaking but I'm not sure. Maybe I'm hearing things. Car ran fine absolutely no problems. Couldn't really hear the sound when it was running mostly just idling. I attached a video. Am I paranoid or is this a normal sound? Jesse
Which sound? The little rattling one?? Open the intake valves by hand and you will see if it disappears Pretty normal in 360s I assume the 430s are the same https://aldousvoice.com/2013/01/07/ferrari-360-air-intake-system/ http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/399256-turning-off-butterfly-valves.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have a little liquid squealing squawking like sound at start up and then on some launches when warm. To me it sounds like the cam variators. No lights or warnings at all. Runs fine. Good power.
Fuel Injectors will naturally make a ticking sound. I don't hear a squeaking sound like you mentioned in your first post. I only hear the ticking sound. Listen to this video. The ticking sound is the Fuel Injectors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mt8HnMMBlQA
Yes, that's what it sounds like to me. My injectors are noisy too. Just to be sure, you can grab a hose, stick one end to your ear and point the other end at the injector rail. You'll be able to pin point where the ticking is coming from that way.
You should check the links I sent you before, somebody posted today a picture of the valve mechanism and voicey website has a picture of what you need to pull, if you pull them and the noise stops or decreases considerable then you know the culprit.
