My oil pressure gauge is junk. My sender has already been replaced, my needle sits in the middle when the car is turned off, and jumps around..even tapping the gauge will sometimes cause it to jump...I fixed the cluster in my Silverado by taking it out and replacing the stepper motors by soldering in new, upgraded ones. Is a similar fix possible with our cars?

Yes, the stepper motors are replaceable. They are plugged in a 4 pins connector on the PCB (no need for soldering) and maintained by 2 screws.
On the picture, 4 are there - the "big" white parts - and the tacho motor is removed.

That is just what I needed, thank you. Happened to have the part numbers and / or source?

Don't remember what the numbers were but IIRC once you pull the motor there's a part number on it. They are available (pretty sure same as the ones in Fiat and BMW)

Was trying to get the #'s so I could order the part before tearing into it, but that may the last resort..

So I've found info and sources for PM25S-048 motors, yet none of them has the attached headers or the -JGA7 (or J6A7) extension, which I'm assuming designates connector type. If you have a few, eric, I may take you up on that offer.

There are several electronics outfits that sell different configurations of the motor, but not these particular ones. May try some brokers.

Just an update, I have an email into NMB to find out what the part # syntax means. It's possible that these are the standard PM25S-048 motors widely available for $20 with a generic 4 pos header, but the extension doesn't look like a date code to me. Here are the datasheets:

    http://www.nmbtc.com/content/pdfs/PM25S-048.pdf
    http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1686042.pdf?_ga=2.149079542.1127333968.1502708653-862771105.1502184303

It may just be a matter of finding out the specifications and crossing the new part. Will update.

Any luck with the part numbers... looking at potentially replacing the oil pressure gauge on my car... is this for a 430 or 360?
    Thanks!

Since this threads was brought back, I thought I'd update-I ended up buying a perfectly good gauge cluster off ebay for $350. Stripped it down and used the steppers to repair my cluster. Was not a difficult job.

[/ QUOTE]
Vielen Dank für Deine Rückmeldung. Werde weiter suchen falls ich was finde :)
