wheels are attractive looking. Not flaming, but HRE's are heavy and have had several documented cases of on track failure to the point some race groups no longer allow them (ie - viper racing league). Curious why you chose HRE? oh - awesome AMG wagon btw...
Slicks cannot be mounted on the Scuderia. The car's electronics are not setup to handle slicks. The electronics involved in handling the steering, suspension and braking cannot handle the excessive forces applied by the slicks, even in the CST OFF position. The car's electronics need to be changed inorder to be able to handle slicks.
Has anyone tried to fit a pair of challange wheels on a scud? I have a set that I am going to try on after I put on 500 miles and it cools off here.
I am leary of after market wheels on the track - saw a real disaster on the track when a cars wheels came apart on a turn
No problem with slicks on a Scud, Hoosier or Pirellis. I have quite a few laps on both types and the Scud systems work just fine. How would the electronics somehow know what tires were on the car? If slicks generate a different contact patch and adhesion level, the electronic nannies would adjust accordingly. But slicks do not have the same warning signs when about to lose adhesion. They don't make screeching or noise. You are fine and then you are spinning or pushing.
What color paint is that scud? Looks just like my facorite Lambo color Gregio telesto! Is that the original paint color or is it a vinyl wrap, don't know that I've seen that color on a Ferrari before.
