sudden change of vacation plans--may drive+bike around the coast instead of flying to Europe.

*** If I can't get a good recommendation for a bicycle rack for a 430 Spider in the next couple days, I MAY HAVE TO GIVE UP AND TAKE THE M5 INSTEAD!!!!! SAVE ME FROM THAT AWFUL FATE!!! ***

I haven't tried this rack on my F430 coupe but I do use it on my Grand Cherokee SRT8 and it works great.

If you do go with something like this I would recommend getting some Lamin-x or protective film to place on the car where the mounts are going to be in contact with paint. This will keep from scratching the car while on your trip. After the trip it can easily be removed.

yes, it can be done. But you'll need to install the factory trailer hitch option for the 430 first. Contact Ferrari for details.

Danny (Bobfett) used to carry his bikes on his 550 all the time. Works well until you get over 120, then you lose the bikes. Actually not a bad idea.....

Interesting how stiff most responses are. After all, a Ferrari is a car. Granted, a nice car and fun to drive but a car none the less. What is wrong with combining more than one hobby or just using it as a car? I take my Spider to Orchard (hardware store) and to run other errands: bank, cleaners, book store, coffee, etc. If you don't use the car it is a garage queen and that's no fun.

I love it. Bike racks on Ferrari's. That's awesome. I am not brave enough to do that, but I have broken my bike down and wrapped it in Blankets and stuck it in the passenger seat. That works well too. Just can't carry much else with you, but that's a given...

I thought Porsche was the only sports car that did this kind of thing.

I did see and interesting hitch/rack idea on a 911. Somehow they mounted a hitch behind the license plate, and put the plate on a hinge that pulls down. The rack, therefore, is a slide-in-trailer-hitch kind. Wierd part is when the rack is in use the license plate is not visable as it is 'hindged' and pointing to the ground. i'm sure thats illegal. When not in use, the receiver is covered by the plate. I"m wondering.................nawwwwwwww. Would be cool, though, to through my Madone on a 430.

I love that rack. What brand? Where did you get it? Will it work on a 430 coupe as well?

    Hi Jorge,

thanks for posting the photo of the Lambo with a bike rack... I can't quite make out the brand name of the rack, though. I've searched your flickr pages and don't see it there either...

    Hi Seth,

I haven't found a Japanese distributor for the Saris rack, and Saris don't list Ferrari applications. On the other hand, the rack is cheap enough I'm tempted to try to get a listed US store to sell me one. I'm sure you're a busy man and hate to impose, but from your knowlege of a 430 spider rear deck, do you think there's any chance at all it'd work?

Ok, after studying that Lambo pix and browsing my butt off i figured out the brand. It's a Hunch Rack by Delta. Unfortunately, all 'buy' links lead me back to amazon.com where it is currently unavailable. I went to the www.deltacycle.com site, which i think is the company site.......it's not even shown as a product. So.....i've emailed the company and will post their response.

    Their response,

Cool to hear you saw our HunchRack on a Lamborghini! Unfortunately, we
discontinued this rack back about 5 years ago. I have had a few people
contact me looking for the rack and know they've been able to locate one
    here and there on Ebay.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Best of luck with your search.
