Has anyone else painted their 360 key? I have only seen one photo of a red one.
what is the best way to remove the horse? heat it or pry it?
I'd like to try red or brush metal finish.

I had mine painted a couple of years ago by Cavallino Models. It came out great.

Thanks! I managed to pry off the horse and remove all the paint with paint stripper.
Red is my first choice and black chrome powdercoat will go on my second key. Polished key with no paint is really nice also but I worry about scratches and oxidation.

On the process suggested in the other thread, would there be any issues to use cooking oven to bake the key after the spray paint? I am more thinking from the perspective of hazardous chemicals captured which could get into the food. Thanks.

just spray thin layer of clear coat, and will stop oxidation

I stripped mine down to metal. It looks and feels great great. I tried clear coat, but didn't like the plastic feel so I took it off.

Oxidation concerns are over blown.I have had mine bare metal for 6 mos. Worse case, once a year spend 30 seconds with some polish.

How do you plan on preventing the spray paint from rubbing off (if you keep the key on your keyring)?

Just tried this out last night, took about two hours but was a fun little project to do. First part on sanding and priming is pretty straight forward, but the red paint took a little longer than expected. First attempt failed (due to uneven surfaces), wiped it off, then second attempt tried to apply less paint each time and did 7 times. Also the paint took a while to dry, so I put it into the oven (190F) for 5 min each time i spray. At the 6th layer, some uneven surfaces developed again, so I used very fine sand paper to smooth them out, then apply a thick 7th layer and baked it for 10-15 min. Results were not too bad and matches body color!! Going to do my other key this weekend. Thanks to those that posted the step by step instructions. Picture taken with my blackberry so not the best.

I just got the key back from the bodyshop. it is also painted red, the finish was very nice but they didn't take off the horse before painting so a lot of ugly over spray. I might buy some model spray and re-paint it myself.

The bodyshop didn't remove the horse! That is the easiest thing to do, just a little leverage and it'll pop off. I did mine a couple of years ago and it still looks like new.

I polished one of mine. Looked nice with the titanium 360 I used to own.

The white looks very nice, not the white white, but sort of like pearl white. What exactly is the color on that key? Thanks.

I used electric tape as I could not find anything else in the house at the time. No issues on the tape at 190 F, however, the key gets sticky so those needs to be washed off afterwards.
