Just done one side. Took so far 20 min. Total 2 hrs to finnish both sides.
Just took the photo and I think it looks real stunning. You can´t miss that the old one is to the right.
It really looks as a Ferrari standard. No aftermarket look.

If many are interested I can make a complete modification manual in a couple of days.
Took the car out this night and this modern light realy transform it. People realy notice it since I just had modified one side. No more ugly yellow bulbs.

No - I don´t sell a kit. But I will tell you where to buy the stuff. You will be very suprised.
And NO - it is not glued on the outside.

Will just check so there are no drawbacks.

Yes I think so. Haven´t looked closer to it, but the headlamp units seems to have the same structure.

Just found the total cost for the mod. 40 USD.

I don´t think so. Audi has a more intensive light, where you realy can see every diod from far away. The one I have is just like the old 430 - but just a little more intensive and of course a absolute white color.

Will use this weekend to finish the job.

Looks good but somehow I wouldn't do it coz there are too many LED-ish cars running around trying to look like an Audi, which is also why I don't fancy the lights on the new 458. I agree it gives the F430 a fresh look, updated and modern but it's kinda like messing with Leonardo's artpiece for me. Thanks for sharing though.

What I would do is hide LED under the dash to light up the floorwells....its so darn dark in the car even when the doors are open.

Ok everything seems to work out fine. Right side is finalised and here is the description.
Remember - at your own risk. I am just telling you what I have done. Don´t come crying to me when you have spoilt your car totaly..

First - go to a IKEA Warehouse and buy a set 601.165.40 Diods. At the lamp department. When you got the package you will understand how this will work out.

Connect 2 rails and cut them acc. to my picture. When you cut - no current on.

I did fit a tape backing on this rail. To have it to slide into the headlamp unit easier. I also grinded the leading end of the rail.

There are so many diods on the market. You see the yellow one on the picture?
I have tested so many but IKEA`s is the best for this purpose. Not yellow and of course not that awful bluish color.

    more to come.

    Hi Anders,
Very well done and interesting thread! I wouldn't have thought that at Ikea such leds would fitt the F430. Does it have the right voltage, 12V?

Could you post some pictures how you were able to slide them into the headlamps?

Yes it is 12Volts. Just take the trafo that comes with the kit and throw it away.
Diods ar arranged paralell so it is no problem to cut of a part. Do it like my instructions and ther will be no problems at all.

For the gentleman who wanted to discuss lightning up the cabin of the 430. Use the IKEA diods. Glue them just under the glove compartment and connect to the interrior light. Use no other.
I have tested 5-6 different and IKEA has the best bright light. Around 4000 Kelvin.
