I have the old timing belts out of my 2004 360 in my hands. I am wondering if they were the originals or if they had been replaced. I am looking at the numbers and writing on them and cannot figure anything out. I see a series of numbers (white) starting with 4191052 on one belt. These get higher in series on the belt and are even higher and again in series on the second belt. I assume these numbers corrsepnd to the positions on the roll from which the belts were cut. Each belt also has 'Ferrari' and '184986' stamped on it repeatedly in yellow. (the 1 is difficult to read) Also in yellow - '111' (again - last 1 is difficult to read - hard to be certain) and 280 (I think this is the part number) are repeatedly stamped on each belt. There is also a notation that they were made in the EEC and not to crimp them (in several languages) Can anyone decipher these numbers and come up with a date of manufacture???? Thanks
Daniel at Ricambi knows how to decode the numbers on the belt.. Provided they are the Dayco belts, if they have a fabric mesh (yellow kevlar) on the toothed, not smooth part of the belt then they are at least from 2005 (IIRC) As I can recall the 11RHPN280 relates to the belt.. I If I can recall.. I think... In white the 10071170 is the determinator.. 10 (year) 07 (month) 11 (day) 70- version, Might be Month-day-year 4-19-2010 manufacture.. Daniel PM'd me the details but I've deleted it since :-( .. I'd drop him a him line..
Yes - the belts are DAYCO I am almost certain that the white numbers in sequential increasing order represent the position on the roll from which the belts were cut. No other logical explanation. I am also pretty sure that the number that must be decodes to determine date of manufacture is 184986. Perhaps the eighteenth week of 2004? Help!
184986 is the Ferrari part number The code I believe is 8 digits week/year/4 other numbers from previous threads
