i had a front challenge wheel with a tire on and it was 20 kg . the oem wheels and tire that are on most 36o and 430 were more than 20 kg
This kit will be very useful for those of you that track your car .You can now remove your road set of wheels and fit another set of slicks by loosening one nut . Just like it was designed for a race car.
pity since you are in Florida i would have installed it for free . However we have made this so easy to install that you would enjoy doing it your self .
+1. I know the purists will be all over this kit about the weight savings and all. The beauty of this is in its simplicity and ease of reversing the process. Any idiot could do this....even me. Of course the trade off would be weight savings. Lets see how much that'll be.
Click on the link below. This is the install guide: www.capristoexhaust.com/downloads/challenge-conversion.pdf It is quite clear and self explanatory, and will definitely answer any questions you may have...
So I'm guessing tyres wise we can go with 245/30/19 front and 305/30/19 rear as per Trev's recommendation?
Trev, Unfortunately we have not tested with wider rubber on this modification. So we suggest to stay with the standard tires.
No worries Andrea. That was Trev's experience stated in FL so I was hoping that's something I can replicate on my project car. So your advice is to stick to 235/30/19 front and 285/30/19 rear?
this kit is only available from us (florida usa ). We do ship world wide . calculate shipping to Europe to be around 110 euro per wheel .
Hi, this looks great, I would love to use the 1/2" wider 430 wheels on my CS, but i'm concerned with the front guard clearance. Obviously this system increases the front and rear track, but how much in total? Does the increased track cause any front guard clearance problems with high steering lock and loaded suspension. ie: during track use? Has the system been fully tested? More info please....
Some of the Porsche guys are swapping out their CL wheels for lugs because the wheels are flying off the car on the track. That would make me a bit concerned about this.
I was doing the Palm Beach International Raceway Hook On Driving last December. A Porsche one car ahead lost it's wheel. No one got hit, but the hub to center lock adapter came apart at the studs (older car). Some new Porsche owners are replacing the center locks to studs/nuts. I read something about 400 lb/ft required on the center nut!!! Do the research before spending $$$.
