    Actually very easy DIY project.

I used paint stripper to remove the paint...it bubbled right off. I then used sand paper working up to 2000 grit to remove small scratches and imperfections and polished with a buffing machine, though you could do the same with a Dremel or even by hand with some metal polish. I then taped off the stripes and blasted the area with extra fine glass beads. Alternatively, you could use some fine sand paper over a rubber eraser, stroking evenly in one direction, to create the matte finished stripes. If you mess it up, just re-polish and start over.

the pony fell off of mine, i may use a small model brush to paint it to match the car.

Love the idea though.. i may try this!

Looks good, paint the horse red or blk or just to match your body color

Did you apply a few coats of clear coat afterwards? It will keep the aluminum from oxidizing and scratching. On that note, if you will be clearing the key, the stripes could be paint; just polish, tape, paint stripe, untape, clear.

I recently sanded and painted my Lexus FOB to match the car color, then put 10 coats of clear on t and it looks fabulous. So much clear it almost looks wet.

One more note; Chrome paint has come a long way and may look great as well.

What you have done looks great.

If anyone wants diamonds on their keys let me know!! :) I've seen a few of them! There was one guy that used 800$ in diamonds to make a bentley key then charged 12,000$ for the key! That was pretty insane but I understand there are costs to get the mold for the key etc but it doesn't cost that much. Ranting to myself!

Good job. Helps to solve the crappy-key-paint-on-360-keys problem. Thanks.

The horse may be too small for decent detail. It may work if you could get a pre cut decal, though.

OK... that gives me a thought...you could fill the little cavity with some colored epoxy (red maybe). In fact you would over fill it slightly then trim it back as you buff it....interesting!!

Remind me why you are doing it, again ? Besides... because you can.
Just messing with you guys, Looks nice, But how about the transponder ? I wouldn't mess with that. PLUS it looks like a lot of work.
