Just took my 360 to annual maintenance at local Ferrari dealer. It is a manual. While car was being serviced, I was talking to the general manager and he stated Ferrari no longer manufacture manual transmission models. I was surprised.

    Sadly not California
Enzo would turn in his grave. Grass is green, sky is blue and Ferrari's should be manual only. (not instigating the whole F1/Manual row again, just how I feel).

Rumor has it the new Enzo or F70 with be a 12 cylinder hybrid. Similar to the new Acura NSX (only it is a V6 hybrid) but similar technology.

Almost certain that within 10 years there will be an ultra limited edition F40 or Enzo type edition that comes with the classic gated shifter and it's marketed as a car for truly capable enthusiast drivers. They sell for a ridiculous price. Then a few years later the latest 8 cylinder model will have a 7 or 8 speed gated shifter as a pricey option and people will pay through the nose to get a feature that was "only availble in the F60 a few years ago!"

Ferrari 599 Electric Hybrid. Enzo is probably saying : "Che cosa sta succedendo con i miei ingegneri di fabbrica? Vorrei essere vivo al fuoco tutti!! "

You say that like it's a bad thing. Apparently in F1 in 2014 they plan to use the KERS to add power at lower RPM to make up for turbo lag.

    Look at Porsche's new flagship, it's a 795HP hybrid.

Absolutely convinced we will see a hybrid at some point, something along the line of Porsche or potentially a KERS system which would be nothing short of awesome to have... The technology is going to progress, and I think we have gone as far as we will with combustion in the next... 10-15 years...

A number of the final 599's produced were manual cars, my dealer had 3!

I'd like to think so. Let's hope. Meanwhile I'm going out to run our '07 F430 gated shifter.

Enzo also didn't want to transition from drum brakes to disc brakes.

Or front engine to mid engine. Or raw power to efficiency (aero that is).

Is 2007 the last year that a gated shifter was made on the 430?

I believe a local owner has an 08 430 spider with a manual. But I understand your question, for the most part I have only seen the 05-07s with a stick. I haven't ever seen an 09 with 3 pedals.

Gated shifter is the way to go... A true sports car... I say sports car because I am not a race car driver nor do I want a race car if I did I would get a car with a f1 trans.. But for me it is not about the fastest lap time it's about the fun and the feel :) f1 is like using a condom... Still fun but takes all the pleasure away :)
