I finally did it ... installed a carbon fiber challenge grill for my 430! Sorry for the bad lighting ... pulled it out of the garage for a quick photo!

Looks very nice, tell me what parts did you need to do the conversion?

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Other than the grill and bumper, mostly miscellaneous screws and washers

1: Grill (with metal mesh, horse and attaching screws)
2: Bumper (use original shims and hardware, also need 9 screws to attach carbon to bumper)
3: Extra slotted washers (maybe a dozen) for carbon grill to frame shimming (105864 - I actually used these 355 slotted washers that I had)
4: Rivets for license plate bracket
5: Need 3 guys to install to make it easy ... 1 on each side to hold , while you're putting on the nuts

I also had to reinstall my OEM exhaust brackets temporarily to support my muffler, since the Capristo brackets I previously installed attaches to the bumper bolts.

    Looks great!

I want to do the same with mine, I have the upper carbon fiber grill but still need the lower bumper cover.

Did you find anywhere to get it at a reasonable cost?

    Regards.

Great job! I have the same rear grille on mine (OEM) and have always liked that look.

All the parts I installed are OEM Ferrari so it's a little pricey. You can either go brand new or look for used parts.

Brand new: ~ $8500-$9500 for the parts, plus painting the lower bumper ~ $1500, so ~ $10,000-$11,000 PLUS shipping of parts to your location, PLUS installation.

Used (or if lucky, finding new at a good price): I found a new carbon fiber grill with the mesh and horse, and an excellent used lower bumper for $5500, plus painting $1500, so $7000 plus shipping (costly for me since the parts came from the mainland to Hawaii) but I did the install myself to save a few dollars.

It took about a year to find my lower bumper and I've only seen 3 for sale in the past year. They go for ~ $2500-$3500 depending on condition and if you have parking sensors. The non-sensor ones I've seen sell in a day or two as guys like you and I are looking to do the conversion.

Also for others looking for the carbon fiber grill, the spider and coupe grills are different, so make sure you get the right one for your 430.

And thanks again everyone for the kind words!

Wow. I had a fellow offer me $5500 to swap with him (he had the same color so no painting involved); but I bought my car in large part because of the CF grille and CF engine vents that were OEM on my car. I certainly was not ready to give them up. Now I see that had I taken the $5500, that would not have been a pretty bad deal for me!

I have changed my view on the CF grill. I could take it or leave it initially but I like it now. BUT no way am I forking out that much for the conversion. It looks great though.
